Flooded Again

The weather in our area of NC was a constant rain for 3 days straight. Many areas around the capital flooded. Raleigh, Cary, Durham and the surrounding areas faced many creeks overflowing. This affected businesses and homes. Fortunately, the more southern areas of Lumberton, Fayetteville that were flooded by Hurricane Matthew were spared a bit. No flooding here at my home but the dirt road we live on looks as if you could swim in it from the end of the road all the way to our house. The weather is going to be in the 80's for the rest of the week. I hope it will help dry up all of the rain and give those people who have been flooded out a big break. How is your weather?

@jaboUK our driveway is not really flooded. It does have numerous mud holes though. The one right in front of our house would make a good little swimming hole for the boys! This particular hole was filled 2 years ago but it keeps washing out. I doubt if we can get the owners to bring in more gravel to fill it.

@bunnybon7 I saw this morning on the news that part of Florida and Georgia have large forest fires going. Praying for both states.

@bunnybon7 I feel you on the hurricanes. Here in NC, we see our fair share. I saw on a drought report that quite a bit of the Gulf side of Florida is in a severe drought. I was very surprised at this.

I do hope you get a good stretch of sunshine to dry up the water. We have been having rain too, but not extreme rain. The grass is much greener and the leaves on the trees are coming out rather quickly.

@Shellyann36 the pollen won't go away anytime soon here. The leaves are not fully out on the trees.

@ElusiveButterfly It is about the same here. Having the rain did take it away for a few days anyway!

@Lupita234 It's not the best month of May. Usually May is warm and sunny, this year it rains a lot, but the temperature is warm now.

@Shellyann36 no problems locally although I understand there was some flooding nearby in Hamilton and Dundas.
Flooding on the streets had gone down by Friday morning, and widespread flooding is not expected, the conservation authority said.

@shaggin I am glad to hear that the tornado warnings near you are not harsh. I pray for all the folks that get stuck with them on a regular basis. Watching them on the news is so hard to do.

We have gorgeous weather right now.. 80 degrees and sunny, but it feels cold to me as I was just in your area.. well, Myrtle Beach actually, until Saturday. Sorry that the rain started right when we left, though actually I'm really not sorry as the weather was perfect while we were visiting!

I do them but with caution @Shellyann36 back in 2006 I did a lot of them and we got our very first major flooding here in El Paso surpassing all previous precipitation records.

@LeaPea2417 I have never heard of Toccoa before. I will have to look the area up. I heard on the news this morning that parts of Florida and Georgia are burning. I hope you are not near that area.

our weather here as hot as the scorching sun. but when it rains or when there is a storm, flash floods also happen, but the flood waters immediately go down.

@Shellyann36 yes, i agree on that. our country boasts of many tourist attractions, but then, when you want to tay here for good, i doubt if you can endure the erratic weather we have.

We have had unusually warm weather for April. I live next to a river and it always floods in the spring. So far no flooding but rain for the next 4 or 5 days so we shall see.

@fishtiger58 Enjoy that warm weather. We had 80's in February, which is really uncommon. Our temps are back up to the 80's now. It will help dry things out, I hope.

The flooding issue has really been huge in some areas. The road construction that has continued for decades is part of the solution, we are told...drain systems, etc. will solve the issues. Do you think it will?

@PatZAnthony I think that the construction will have a positive effect on some but a very negative effect on others. The areas that will be spared the flooding is the shopping centers and cities, while the folks down the road near the rivers and creeks where the runoff will go will lose their homes to the new waters added to the area.

@FayeHazel we really did not get any flooding. Our driveway turned into a pond in some areas but nothing that would harm anyone's home.

Maybe NC could ship some of that water to us?
Yeah yeah yeah, I know, they don't have the money and want me to pay, right?
Hey, I could write an IOU to be due starting in 2105
