A Duo from Both Sides of the World

There were several duos at the Fairbridge Music Festival which we attended recently. The New Macedon Rangers was one of these duos. The girl goes by the name of Ash onstage and is from New South Wales. Her onstage partner is Andrew from North Carolina. I couldn't find surnames for either of them. Appalachian folk tunes, early country tunes and original material were performed on guitar, mandolin, fiddle and banjo.
We saw them on the first day and Andrew was very solemn and seemed a bit uptight. By the third day they teamed up with some West Australians for a couple of numbers and he had relaxed completely and was having such a good time doing fiddle harmonies with another great artist.
Ash has been playing an instrument for only two years but has a good voice although it has the nasal quality that seems to be mandatory for the type of music they were playing.
The two have won or placed in fiddle, banjo, and folk song contests in the US as well as doing well in the mandolin category at the 2015 Australian National Bluegrass Championships.
And Vince was trying out a new effect on his photo of the two of them. Do you like it? And I wonder if I dare tell him the altar isn't horizontal. It would spoil his day as he is always going on about horizons that aren't horizontal.
This is the only link I can find for them:

I didn't know that1 That's great. I'm tempted to get a ukulele. I have short fingers and find stretching for guitar chords to be beyond me really. But you have to be committed to practising so I'll probably just go on talking about how I'd like to.

@JudyEv I really do! I know that in my city, during the summer, at one of our shopping centers where they have a gazebo and room for people to bring chairs, they have concerts every Wednesday evening at 6pm. Every week it's a different kind of music. This summer I am definitely planning to go and enjoy whatever music they bring. It will be such a nice change!

We thought they were really good particularly as the girl hasn't been playing for very long.

You are right about her voice. She has really adopted that southern folky sound. I have known others who do that too.

I find it very nasally but I guess it sounds pretty authentic.
