Am I Still Sane?!?!?

I just slapped myself and yes I am sane, but after today you would not think I could have lived through all that without exploding my brain matter all over the interior of my Kia. This is the first Month Tony has went with me to collect rent, I still drive the elderly ladies to the bank, the ones that have mental issues, and one had a melt down because Tony told her no. They know I will only do the bank since Tony is sick and can`t sit in the car for hours, no more all day shopping or out to eat etc. ( Tony just about refuses to be seen in public with them, I don`t mind because I know they cannot help how they were born.) Anyways she wanted to go to walmart to have a link took out of a watch, I am sure walmart does not do that, and Tony said No, I am not waiting for that I am a sick man, get your friends to take you. This 72 year old began to raise pure H*ll about how I was supposed to take her. So Tony and her got into a screaming fight, he was in front and she was behind me in the back, her sister saying nothing. I was headed to take them back home about to pee on myself but I was not stopping for nothing. Then she repeated " I don`t know how we will get groceries" 25 times in a minute. I replied " the same way you have for the passed 6 months" so she told me I thought I was to good to take them. I ignored her, still driving her home. This was non stop about walmart the entire time they were in my car, she even yelled at me in the back, but I acted like I did not know her. About two blocks from their house I looked back at the other one that was quiet and I said " I am giving you a month to find someone to take you to the bank next month, I am getting a new job and I am hiring someone to collect, you have to have the money when they come to get it." All h*ll broke loose! The older said" You will keep taking us to the bank and I mean it!"..... I was glad I was close to their house. Now the "normal" tenants paid and then invited me to their b-b-q on May 13th. Another tenants mother wants to rent from me, I am working out a " clean the lot" deal for them now. How was your day?

I am glad my day was nothing like yours. Sometimes the more you do for people the more they want you to do for them.

I have been dealing with mentally retarded and mentally ill people most of my life and I know you give an inch they will take a mile. I am sure I have said it before but they have been in one of my houses since 1999 and I have only raised rent a few dollar but the last 2 years they have been without a car, the oldest has a drivers license, she shouldn`t but??? I am at the point that I feel I am enabling them to be bums, last year I know she had saved $1,500 but spent it at Christmas, instead of getting a car. These two are one reason I moved from the neighborhood.

Very true, there are so many people who simply refuse to see the wonderful mercies they have when compared to millions of others. But the world needs these people and they help us understand that we have so much to be happy about and thankful for ^_^.

No I will not miss the monthly headache. I have slowly cut them back, first no eating out because one pitched a fit in the restaurant. When Tony got sick no more grocery store trips. So the last is No more bank trips.

What a ride that must have been. I guess millennials, teens, and tweens aren't the only ones with the mistaken idea they are entitled to special treatment.

Far better than yours, though I did stumble into two hours of manual labor when I just wanted to plant some lettuce.

This evening I let the dogs out of the backyard and I planted zucchini and yellow squash, 3 more tomato plants, and a dozen bell pepper plants. Do you plant by the moon phases? I do.

That sounds horrendous. I know they can't help it but what a way to repay you for all the lifts you've given them.

You have to understand people with their condition, you are only a friend when they are with you, afterwards you are their gossip.

cant they direct deposit the money to you from their bank account? this is a bit of a business opportunity for someone to do, someone can take them on their errands once a month for a fee, unless its done through a free program of some sort. i hope they find someone. its not easy to deal with people like them, i also know how it is with them from experience.

@andriaperry - these people need family or friends to care for them, last resort is a home for people like them.

@Plethos I won`t kick them out but they do need to be in a home, I could actually make $150 more a month on the house they are in.

No they do not understand banking at all but Obama forced everyone to get direct deposit no matter if they could count or not , one had to learn the hard way because she would not listen to me and swiped that card like it was all hers to get whatever and the next month it took almost all her check for over drawing. They did better with the paper checks, the grocery store is one block from their house too.

You are a very strong, sweet, willful person. You must get the goodness that you deserve. My day was full of cleaning, organizing and reorganizing and moving around things in my house as small renovations are being done. It looks better and better. Thanks for asking and for sharing your day with us!
