The Truck's Nose Got Bent Outta Shape

Wondered why hubby was a little late getting home tonight. His hours at work vary so I can never tell when he will be home. He called to let me know he was on his way and that I need to call and straighten out our insurance. Of course I asked why. He rear-ended a car, but it was because of the $!!#&$!# traffic. Yeah, I am not impressed. We have yet to make our first payment.

He said it was stop and go traffic. The [police officer said that he knew that there would be an accident that day just because of it. Unfortunately it happened to my husband.

@LadyDuck I hate driving in stop and go traffic. You have to watch the traffic in every direction.

@ElusiveButterfly When there is that kind of traffic sooner or later there is an accident.

@Courtlynn we only need to pay a $250 deductible, the insurance covers the rest.

Oh goodness, do you mean that you haven't paid the insurance, or a payment on the car itself?

Yikes, I hate it when we have fender benders, it doesn't happen often but Insurance is certainly needed and here its against the law to drive without it.

It is a law here as well that you must insure a vehicle that you drive on the road. I am hoping that the cost doesn't go up as a result of the accident.

@ElusiveButterfly I've found the cost does go up after an accident but then comes down later.

Oh there are worse things that could happen. He could have been injured and fortunately he was not.

We have to have coverage on a purchased vehicle before it can be driven off the lot.

I don't know how we would have been able to pay our bills if he had to be out of work because of an injury. Was very thankful he was okay.

Yikes....not good. My girlfriend did that...except she totalled the vehicle, she rolled it. The only reason the police didn't lay charges....the policeman also slid into the ditch. Luckily she worked for the insurance company. (She was on maternity leave at the time)

Must have been a bad day for driving if she slid in a ditch. Pretty scary stuff.
