Seems my son's trip to NY city yesterday was riddled with problems..
First, he got sick on the bus... very very sick. He said he vomited twice on the bus, and once again after getting off the bus.. but later in the day he felt a bit better, until it was time to make the long trek back home, then he started getting sick again...
Once they arrived in NY they boarded a ferry to take them to see the Statue of Liberty. Then they had to take a ferry back to the busses...
One teacher took her group of kids on the wrong ferry! So they had to take the ferry back to the island then take the correct ferry back to the busses. That held them up for an hour and a half.. so they were very late getting to the Mets game and only got to see the last 2 innings..
The bus ride through Times Square took longer than expected due to traffic..
But then they were finally on their way home.. however one of their two busses broke down on the way home.
So they loaded as many kids onto the one bus as they could, but there were a few adults and 27 kids that couldn't fit onto the first bus.
However the bus company was not at all helpful to our group...
In the end the kids and adults boarded a Trailways bus which brought them to the main bus station in our city (half an hour away from our town and our school) where they were met by another bus from the company we hired which brought them back to the school..
They arrived back at the school at 4:15 am.
My son thankfully was put onto the first bus due to feeling sick, and he arrived home at 2am..
Other than that he had a great time!
Picture is courtesy of my son's teacher.. here he is with a couple of his friends in front of the NYC skyline!

@katsmeow1213 Oh well, if the kids didn't go to school, perhaps the teachers had a bit easier day.

He said they saw a ton of characters in Times Square.. I think he enjoyed it very much, once the motion sickness wore off.

@katsmeow1213 Times Square is an awesome place to visit. Does he usually get car sick? I used to as a kid.

Oh no - motion sickness? How crazy that a teacher got their kids on the wrong ferry . . . I wonder what the kids did for that hour and a half of being held back. In a sense, I guess being sick worked out in your son's favor in the end. I'm glad he had a good time otherwise though ... was his tummy ok after he got home?

Oh goodness. Whyd he get sick on the bus? Does he not travel well?

Normally he's okay, but a 5 hour long bus ride did him in..

Maybe there were fumes on the bus that made him ill. Glad he is better now.

I think it was just motion sickness is all. I used to get it as a kid too. My oldest couldn't go anywhere in the car without getting sick until he was about 5 years old!

The kids still had a lot of fun, that's what matters. The adults thought it was pretty chaotic!

I feel bad for your son about getting sick. It must have been embarrassing. I'm glad he had a good time and NYC is awesome to see,,, even in a comedy of errors...

wow horrible they had so many problems. It kind of sounds like you son has motion sickness. He was sick on the bus and once he got off he felt better. Then he felt bad again after getting back on the bus. Motion sickness runs in my family and we have found that a full stomach and something like mints to suck on while in a car helps a lot, also fresh air in our faces helps.

Yes you can't get much fresh air on a bus. I have motion sickness occasionally too.

It sounds like a disaster to me. I see this post is from May of this year. So, what happened to your son? It sounds like he should have been taken care of because he was sick. Has he been sick on other trips too?
