Note to Self: Just Post It - Now!

I have posts I've drafted, written and cleaned up, but still haven't posted because I was waiting when I had more time to mylot, then eventually forgot about them. I drafted a post about snacking on dried fruits and nuts last week of April, and cleaned it up, April 28, 2:30 pm Philippine time (1:30 am USA Central Standard Time), but didn't post it immediately. That evening, 10:46 pm (Phil. time), I saw a post about nuts by Snowy22315 (9:46 am US CST), so I hesitated to post mine. Last February, I drafted a post about dipping bread and cookies in liquids, then finalized it with pictures by February 14. Yesterday, I see a post by Silvermist about dunking biscuits, which made me remember it and how much time has passed, so maybe I won't post it anymore. In fact, I just edited this before posting today because I actually wrote this yesterday, after I saw Silvermist's post, but things cropped up and I ran out of time last night. When you see a topic similar to yours, before or after you post, do you participate in that other post, too? Are there recurrent topics that you don't mind answering again and again?

Yes, if I see a topic similar to mines, I interact, it's interesting to exchange opinions on the same topic. There are many recurrent topics that I do not mind answering again... which kind of pizza you like more?... which breakfast?.... Do you like tea or coffee?... Well I have replied dozen of times, now I am tired.

they used to be called duplicate topics in the old mylot, but realistically i don't think it can be prevented 100%.

@LadyDuck i try to vary the questions i ask, even if it's a recurrent topic, but you can't predict how people will respond either.

@hereandthere No, it is impossible, users that continue to publish the same topics know that they will get very few comments. I do not know why they insist.

I am sure there are a lot of things going on in that brain of yours that is why you have a lot ideas. And that is great. I do participate in topics, no matter how recurrent they are.

i do have a lot of ideas every day, but only a few i actually post, or i do write out and polish, but forget to post. some are more like "thinking out loud" but i worry that they might be deleted for not having enough substance.

@Yadah04 oh, i don't mean deep stuff, (who, me?) but i just try to avoid posting that leads to yes/no, agree/disagree responses.

@hereandthere wow, substance. Big word. Lol. Anyway, it is just fun to read and respond to random things. It kills time of a bored mom like me. Lol.

Actually it does not matter what the others post, you just start your own discussion thread. Some people only check their own discussion and that of their friends. They do not go through the list of discussions to see all the threads.

true. others just look at recent discussions, others' don't look at top-rated discussions.

The only time I stop answering similar posts is when there are 10 or more about elections, or Mother's Day, or myLot payments, or whatever. I guess if I saw someone put up a post very similar to one I had ready I might wait a while but I'm not sure it really matters.

@hereandthere I think I'm a bit lucky being in Australia although sometimes I have no idea something is unique until I post it.

That's why today I am not posting a Happy Mother's Day post! But I don't mind when there are many posts on the same topic - everyone has a different twist on it - so that's cool with me - I might have a different twist on my comments!

i make it up in the comments, too, if i find a response that's interesting.

That is good you have some posts for a rainy day. I like similar posts because you get different perspectives from each person.

I just like to see posts. To be honest, I never expect them to be perfect. Not do I mind several posts on a topic.

Then change the title pertaining to other topics than the one you prepared for. As for me, If I don't post it, I just move on and make another post.

I sometimes do, others will tell me that they've posted similar discussions as mine. I will tell them, it's okay as long as the thoughts are different from mine.

I don't mind participating in discussions that are similar to my own posts. I think my views can add to any discussion. And yes, there are some topics that come up again and again and it's still fun to talk about them on different days!
