Tying the knot once more

Two weeks ago, I've told you that my brother was finally getting remarried to my sister-in-law Karrie today with the justice of the peace. Today is the day. An hour ago (at 11 AM EST), it had happened and made it official. Since he just returned from his trip from San Diegvo for work last night, to answer @njchicaa's question, yes he had taken today off from work. He would be working tomorrow at home before he goes back to San Diego for work on Monday. These work-related business trips are ongoing until July, when he told me that this past Sunday. I've just sent him a congratulatory text and will see him next weekend, when I get my haircut as he'll be at his dentist appointment at the same time. I can't wait to officially welcome Karrie as my SIL, the next time I see her.

Yes. My brother was married in 2000. It lasted 2 years. I know Karrie was. But I don't know how long she was married before she had gotten divorced. She has two sons from her first marriage.

@just4him I'm not sure. Maybe they had someone from the courtroom to witness it. I don't know how it exactly works. Thanks Val!

It was just the two of them at the courthouse with the justice of the peace. I think they wanted to do it alone and privately. Not sure if her two sons were there with them.

@KristenH Wouldn't they need witnesses? I was part of a wedding a long time ago that took part at the courthouse. By the way, congratulations to them.

No. They never gotten married before. They dated, lived together, and then been engaged for a couple of years. They've been together for about a decade. Second marriage for both of them, they were previously marrried before to other people.

How long had it been since they were married before this? I've heard of this happening before, and a friend of mine remarried her husband after divorcing him in 2009. Although theirs is more a marriage of convenience, or at least as far as she's concerned. He keeps hoping for more. I wrote this and then read a few comments. Maybe he's not marrying someone he was married to previously?: Is Karrie your sil via another sibling, or possibly she is your husband's sister instead?

My brother was married for 2 years (2000-2002) before he had gotten divorced to my former SIL a decade ago. I don't know about Karrie, other than she was divorced with two sons when I met her in 2009. I'm not married, nor do I have any other siblings. She's my SIL now since she married my brother officially after a long engagement.
