Our goldfish usually spend the winter indoors. Come spring, their pond is all cleaned and spruced up and they are all too happy to return to the wild. We started out several years with a dozen small fish. They have spawned and multiplied over the years. At one time we had on overpopulation of about 60 now we are back to a dozen large ones. Did you have a goldfish when you were young or any other aquatic pets?

We used to have in the province. In the city we are living in, it is impossible to have them.

@Freelanzer They are snuggly. But you have to put them back in the water so quickly.

I never had fish as a kid, but my daughter does. She has a pretty sweet fish tank in her room. She loves taking care of her fish. I have no idea what kinds of fish she has in the tank, but she has quite a variety.

We also had several fish tanks when the kids were young. It is a good experience for children.

@Freelanzer It sure does teach them about responsibility! But unfortunately, we had to flush a few fish down the toilet along the journey.

I think I had goldfish when I was young. They'd always wind up floating upside down within a year.

poor things don't live too long in captivity.

We've never had pet fish. They don't really appeal to me but I know many people love them. I quite like watching the fish in other people's aquariums or ponds but I never feel the need to have any of my own.

As a child I never had a pet fish but my children had several. I grew up in an environment where it wasn't necessary as there were naturally occurring ponds, streams, rivers, that had all sorts of fish.

Same here. Had numerous types of aquariums and fish over the years when our kids were younger. we then moved to the outdoor pond even though they are inside during the winter.

I love your little fish pond but I don't live in an area where I can have one. They seem to be very popular and I'm sure your fish are happy to be back outside
