As I was mylotting yesterday I noticed that @nomus24g had changed his user name to one that had a prefix Er. I asked him what it stood for.He replied ,"Engineer", just as Dr. stood for doctor. I thought he had made it up but no, I had erred . He listed the prefixes of other professions in a discussion today. They are not all that well known. Guess I do learn a lot, on myLot. And if you capitalize it , ER then it becomes an American medical drama TV series.

In English both eng. and engr. are valid abbreviations. Note that "Engineer" is not used as a title in Britain or. This is in contrast with much of Europe.

ER in America stands for Emergency Room. That is interesting though. I didn't know it was an abbreviation for engineer.

Changing user names is not always wise. I was recently surprised at someone interacting on my posts with an unknown to me name, and have just discovered I've known her by another name for a long time.
