I have a catheter now

I'm in such pain that I can't walk to get in and out of the bathroom or to the bedside commode. Ashley got the order and came and put it in. I'm not bashful with Ashley. I hate to have it because it constantly feels like I have to go. That urge is fading away now so I'm glad I don't have to get up every 2 hrs to pee. I will have to get up with number 2 though. Love y'all Me

All those who have experienced have not liked the catheter, but I think that this is the best solution for you.

@LadyDuck the catheter helps me on bed rest. I still cry out in pain when I have to do number 2.

@OreoBrownie I am glad it's better now, at least you do not need to get up.

I would hate that so much. I'd love to have a catheter cause I could get a lot more stuff done. Seems like I have to get up about every two hours. I guess that is good cause it is a good reason to get up and move. Sorry you are in such pain.

Once you get over the nerve pain from the pee feeling, it's okay.

@celticeagle going to a nursing home. I'm too much on my daughter. She feels terrible like she is throwing me away. I told her she isnt.

I cringe at the thought but sometimes we have no choice. I have a weak bladder and do get up about every two hours to urinate. Thankfully, I am still healthy enough to get up at this time. Hopefully, things will improve for you.

I´m so sorry! Couldn´t you have surgery for your problem?

The thing I remember most about the time I had a catheter was the hose got a crimp in it, and I kept feeling like I had to pee. I told the nurse and she said, "You can't get up. (I'd just had surgery.) If you feel like you're gonna pee, then pee!" Before I fell back asleep I said, "You don't have to lie in it." When I woke up a little later they told me the tube had been pinched, which is what made it feel like my bladder was full.

Yeah crimping will cause that. Mine isn't crimping, I don't think cuz it's not leaking. The pee nerves are not stimulated now so it's easier.

Isn't a catheter a needle in your body.I hope I never have one.
