Hackers are very well paid. White hat hackers refers to legitimate hackers working for government and big companies. Many white hat hackers have certifications to allow them to gain employment. Black hat hackers refers to those who steal information, such as credit card details, and sell the information or use the information to enrich themselves. In North Korea, apparently the highest paid hackers are military hackers. They hack to steal military secrets. Too bad I do not have talent in this area, else I will make money much more enjoyable and easily.

I know they can make good money. But it is wrong. It is a big waste of their excellent abilities. If I had their skills, I would not do things like that. I think I would like to be someone who is like Julian Paul Assange. He has the excellent skills but he is just like a Robinhood today. He is a person who I appreciate.

@scheng1 Some bad hackers can become good ones later. Such as the virus CIH creator, I heard later a good and big company employed him.

@youless If they work for the government to prevent other hackers from stealing data, that is good.

I told my husband he could have joined the white hat hackers. He is too independent to work for someone.

Many white hat hackers are freelancers. They work from home or anywhere else they like on assignment basis. I think the weakness in Windows XP is one good example. The weaknesses were discovered by white hat hackers, and Microsoft had to do patches to fix.

@scheng1 There are many weakness even in Windows 10, for what concerns security it is less secure than all the previous systems, because Microsoft left too many hidden programs, just in case they (or the US government) need to check something.

When I was working as a Call Center agent in a BPO company. I talked to a hacker, well that's what he said. We try to configure his devices and to my shock, a hacker was working with me to make his devices up and running. He even paid for the remote access just to set his settings. He was good with command and other stuff. I was not helping him, he was helping me.

Hackers do not really target our computers, because they do not gain much from it. If they target the banking systems, and took off with our credit card details, and our money in the banks, that will be much more profitable to them.
