I was hoping for some sort of e-mail confirming or rejecting the forced application I had to make after the mandatory interview I had yesterday regarding warehousing work, involving an agency expecting me paying for my own safety boots and for my own criminal record check. I was told at interview to expect instructions on applying for these things (which I now know to be outside my budget) but no such instructions arrived yesterday (when they were promised they would arrive) or today.
This could mean the agency company no longer want to employ me (hooray) but that is normally relayed to me by the welfare people who get a full assessment of how I behaved at the interview they arranged). Instead, I was left entirely in the dark. Worrying.
As I need new shoes I went to my favourite shoe shop only to find it closed as it has relocated. I found the new branch was also closed as it won’t officially open until tomorrow.
I went to the community centre for what proved to be a series of exercise games we could play without leaving our chairs – good fun. We all got lots of pies, donuts and bread rolls for going too. A big thanks to everyone involved.

Why don't they wind up properly with a definite yes or no?
What were the games?

@responsiveme things like moving arms in different patterns to one another that got harder and harder to co-ordinate as they went on

@arthurchappell OK, there is this warm up exercise that we need to do before swimming , one hand you swing backwards the other forward simultaneously.
Needless to say, I just stand around with a stupid grin after a few futile attempts

@responsiveme I would have thought fast swimming would be a warm up exercise in itself

I am still waiting on others for information too. It's frustrating.

well yay for free things to eat, and finding WHERE to get the shoes. I also hope that the welfare people wont expect you to pay for those things (the stuff the dumb job wanted)

That seems a little rediculous that welfare couldn't pay for the background check since they were the ones who arranged the interview.
Welfare in the county that I used to live in, would help cover the costs until you got a job.
