I just made my first cake with Stevia.

Today I have my friends Hector and Marta for tea as in every Tuesday.
Hector loves sweet things and loves my apricot jam. I have not been able to make him understand that if the doctor gave him Glucophage it is because he has diabetes.
So today I decided to try to make a cake with Stevia instead of sugar. I also had some extra cake dough and I made some cupcakes. I added blueberries to the cupcakes and covered the cake with apricots that I had frozen in summer.
We ate one of the cupcakes and Leticia and I declared them delicious. So I will place them in the table with pride this evening.

I just bought a small shaker of stevia a friend recommended as the best brand, but it seems to have a bitter aftertaste when I taste it from sticking my finger into the shaker. I think xylitol, which I put on my cereal, tastes better. Maybe I'll change my mind. The dentist recommended the xylitol.

I used stevia instead of sugar to make the cake. I used half a cup of Stevia for each cup of sugar. In the cake I could not taste any bitterness. At least not in the cupcakes, but I added blueberries.

It was. Although it is more expensive, it is worth it if you have diabetes and like sweets.

I've never heard of this substitute, that is super cool! That is amazing that you did that and everyone is able to enjoy them!

The cake turned out wonderful and it did not have a bitter after taste as some sugar substitutes have.
