Summer, Protein Shakes, and a Pony!

Hello, and welcome to the end of the beautiful month of May, my birthday month! The sun is baking, the grass is growing an inch a day, and all the little brats in your neighborhood will soon be out of school for the summer. The only thing that could make this month any better is reading this discussion...which you are doing right now!
When you are done reading this, you will realize that you just wasted a minute of your life that you'll never get back. You'll also get a short workout of your brain that won't require you to drink a shake made out of whey protein and lost hope. Finally, I'll give you a very useful piece of social media advice that will help you tweak your Facebook strategy. Oh, and there might be a pony at the end. No promises on that though...I'm just saying there might be.
That useful social media strategy I promised you? Well, my advice is to get off of Facebook and go outside and enjoy the month of June!
And since we're talking about June, what are your big plans for the summer? Mine consists of eating mass quantities of ice cream and spending as much time as I possibly can in air conditioned places.
For those of you looking for the pony I promised you, well...keep looking!

@responsiveme It's like that with my kids as well. They always have their heads down on their phones. I think we're gong to see an entire generation of hunchback people from bending over looking at their phones.

Oh yes, thanks for reminding me! Hurricane season starts for us too tomorrow! I'm hoping we have a slow hurricane season this year, as last year I had to deal with two hurricanes.

@Kandae11 Yes, we had Matthew and Hermine. One came up the left coast of Florida, and one came up the right coast of Florida. And I was caught in the middle! haha

Well, Happy Birthday Month to you! NYC was amazing, as always! I looked for you everywhere, but you were nowhere to be found! I was very proud of myself, I only got lost one time, but I realized immediately the wrong turn I made, and was able to turn around and go the right way. And I became quite the expert on the NYC subway system! haha

@moffittjc There is no way I could ever take a train by myself, especially home from Grand Central! We can only meet in Florida. lol
I'm sure your kids had a wonderful experience. Times Square is a must, but the Yankees? Weren't The METS in town? Ha ha!
To be honest, I've been to almost every great city in the world, and there's no place like NYC. Your kids were very lucky to have gotten to experience it. I hope they return someday.

That pony is out there somewhere! I just forget where I left him! Maybe he's eating ice cream somewhere. I wish I had ice cream right now, it is so hot and muggy here where I live!

@moffittjc I hear that's the biggest drawback living in Florida - hot and muggy. We don't get that here until August. I hope you find some ice cream soon.

I love camping so much, but it is just too hot, humid and miserable here in Florida in the summer to go camping. I have to save all my camping adventures for winter. And by winter, I mean that brief period of the year when the temperatures actually drop below 80 degrees (26 C) in Florida!

First, I want my pony. Then I want my minute back.
My summer will consist of equal parts, writing, camping, writing, fishing, writing, and maybe some lesson planning for next year. Considering I'll be teaching a new grade at a new school, maybe more lesson planning.

@moffittjc Well, I really think you should reconsider the ramifications of your refusal to refund the minute of my time you so gleefully wasted with your prodigious prose and, if you are not willing to renegotiate such a refund, then I do have the great pleasure of knowing I have, in turn, and justifiably so, wasted at least a few precious seconds of your time by getting you to read this comment on your comment on my response to your discussion. @JolietJake, did I get the hierarchy of all that correct?
P.S. I'd better see that pony, or else I won't. Put that in your blender and smoothie it.

@DWDavis I think we'd better call a truce. At my age, all my minutes I have left are precious minutes, so I can't waste them debating the ramifications of issuing refunds. Although, I could really use a bunch of time refunds right now, maybe enough to get me back to about age 30 or so.
I'll get right to work on that pony. Hopefully, I won't put him in the blender and smoothie him.

It's a great advice to get off of FB and go outside. It's almost summer and we need to profit of the sun, it is important to store the D vitamin that we need so much. I have no plans for June, but I am going to eat a lot of fresh fruits and salads.

I will definitely get my fill of vitamin D this summer! I also plan to get some Vitamin Sea as well, with several trips tot he beach planned already!

I would prefer to spend every day outside, but damn it sure does get hot here in Florida! Makes it hard to get motivated to do anything outside.

School has been out a week, some schools two weeks ago. We are on 'vacation' right now so the rest of he month will be vacationing in our backyard pool.

I wish our school board would adjust our start and end dates so that the kids got out of school earlier. This year, they got out a week after Memorial Day. They should have timed the ending of school to coincide with the start of Memorial Day weekend!

LOL, yes, i'm on Facebook a little more than I should be, I hate to admit it. We do, however, go to the pool most days in the summer. So at least I make a point of getting outside.
