Do People Remember You?

This past week I have went into a couple store`s that I have not been into in a while, around my old home place, and I talked to one that is in the office, for someone else, and when I started to leave she told me it was good seeing me again. I told her the same thing. I know she has worked at this store for 20 years or more but we never was that friendly, just the nice hey how ya doing and keep walking type of relationship. Then it happened again, I went into the dollar general and the manager was walking toward me, her face brightened and she said " Hey girl!" like she was happy to see this old face. Now this one has a little history, when I had a restraining order against a woman stalker and she worked there, she would run into the back and tell Pam to wait on me, well I did not know when she was working?! or I would not have shown up there. Pam told, after she got fired or quit, that she was glad that woman did not work there anymore. But happy to see me? I don`t get it. The last one I do get , We went to the Oxford Publix`s and one of the nicest young ladies I have ever met is now working there, she is one of those people that is pretty inside and outside but she does not know it. She hugged me out in the parking lot and then went inside to find Tony in his wheelchair cart. She made manager over the bakery. She told us she loves seeing the people she met when she first started out so many years ago and made friends with them. So when you see people you know, are you surprised that they are happy to see you? This discussion was inspired by @LoriAMoore all because she is afraid @FourWalls will be back to talk to her "side guy" :)

Ya know sometimes I want to be somewhere that no one knows me, other times I wish more people around me knew me, so far this neighborhood I have one nut case, one lady thinks she should be able to run my land and one real neighbor that is as nice as can be but his wife does not talk much. And they are a mile away.

Yes, people remember me. We came to Florida every year and when we went to some stores and our favorite restaurants the managers came to greet us and welcome us back to Florida.

Only people i haven't seen for a long time,I know I changed over years, I have had a lot of stress and health issues. So sometimes,I rather not stop to talk to them.If I haven't seen them for a long time. Chances are they will never run into me again.

The attending doctor thinks I look familiar. . . I probably am not, he has only been in the community four years. I love seeing long time friends. Many people are glad to see me, and that is good, I guess.

I am sure most people remember me in a good way, unless I evicted them and took them to court for damages.

For some reason the shopkeepers all know me by name or face. A few even called me at home. I'm going to see one of my favorites in Boston. I love the recognition and warmth. It makes any kind of shopping more fun.

I'm so quiet that I'm surprised when people remember me. Usually it's bartenders, because I tip well.

I was in the store Sunday and a lady said "hey, how's it's going? I haven't seen you in a long time." Then she went on telling me about the past 10 years or so. I told my husband that she must have me mistaken for someone else as I had NO idea who she was. Nope, a few minutes later she came back with her daughter and said "Hey Marsha, do you remember the little blonde who played with your red head? Well, she's all grown up now too" Oops, guess she knew who I was, but I am still perplexed in wondering who the heck she is.

There was on girl who I went to College with who I ran into at a store not too long ago, who called me by name and asked how I was and seemed happy to see me. That made me happy.

I am always glad when people remember me and are happy to see me. However here in Latvia the situation is different and most everyone keeps to themselves. But I have an awful lot of people who know me online and are always happy to hear from me.

I live in a part of the country where people have an exceptional memory. They address other people by name even if they haven't seen them for some time. It's a special training. Shop-keepers tell their shop-assistants to study faces and learn names,
