They talk about all kinds of things.
Dead people like Janis Joplin, Jimmi Hendrix, Jack Lemmon, Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Gloria Swanson, Lucille Ball and some of the baseball and boxing greats whose names I don't know because I don't like sports.

I got really tired of Amazon streaming video, they ran out of shows that came with the prime subscription I had so I canceled.
I've seen just about everything I'd be interested in on Netflix so that's canceled.
Over the past 47 years I never got the chance to actually watch those late night talk shows because I was either working or sleeping when they came on.
Finally I get to see what I missed tween 1969 and 2010 ..... well, sorta.
Hulu has some of the past late night shows on their lineup so I've started watching Dick Cavett.
Call me weird but I find it interesting to listen to what they talked about. I wish they offered The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson but I guess he was too famous for Hulu to afford.
Have you ever watched the old late night talk shows?

I always find it so funny to watch Ally try to get hold of the water with her foot. She's my source of comedy ...... well, ok, so the cats are too but they don't play in the water.

I'm not finished catching up on Netflix; my queue has nearly 500 DVDs lined up. I also subscribe to hulu and am enjoying various shows I've missed because they were on cable, which I don't have, or are BBC shows not shown on over-the-air channels here, which I do have.
On hulu, I'm currently enjoying Deadbeat, the continuation of Upstairs, Downstairs, American Pickers, and a few others.
On OTA tv, I have a few favorites too: Bewitched, The Andy Griffith Show, Lucifer, Seinfeld, Big Bang Theory, and Family Feud, to name a few. Not all these actors are deceased, though. I do love old movies, and many of my Netflix choices are those.

I don't have cable either so I toggle tween Netflix, Amazon and Hulu. I'm also more of a trekkie and have run out of trekkie type shows to watch that I haven't already seen at least 5 times ..... the good ones are gettin borin and some of the not so good ones aren't worth watchin a 2nd time. I'd like to see the last couple seasons of Buck Rogers though, not a really good show but I haven't seen all of it so it would be different.

I have heard of Max Headroom but I couldn't get into it @blitzfrick I love the Stargate franchise, I've seen SG1 at least 3 times, all episodes plus the movie, saw SG Atlantis at least as often and SG Universe I've only seen once. I saw Firefly a long time ago, I might revisit that one.
Have you seen the Librarians franchise with Noah Wyle?

@rebelann I'm a sci-fi fan too. My son (a trekkie) sent me Firefly. I'd never heard of it, but I fell in love with it. I've watched it time after time. I turned around and sent him Max Headroom and District 9. Max Headroom is a series, District 9 a movie. Have you seen any of these?
I started watching all the Special Features provided on the DVDs and got some leads on directors and actors and looked up their filmographies on Wikipedia and IMDb. Got to watching some of "the making of..." DVDs.
It's been a fascinating and educational journey. Do you watch Stargate SG-1? I've never been able to get into it, but it kinda fascinates me when I catch a snippet here and there. I might like to watch it from the beginning.
I watched ST, the original series when it came out. Then STNG. I didn't care for DS9 when it came out, but a couple of years ago I watched the entire series from Netflix and loved it, lol.

Hulu is a Netflix competitor @PainsOnSlate I toggle between those two and Amazon Prime.
I always run out of shows I like eventually and therefore I'm always canceling one and reregistering with another.
