The smell of coffee

One of my favorite smells is the smell of coffee when you open a new can or package. I think part of the reason people drink it is it smells so good being made. I may be wrong but it seems like coffee smelled better when I was a kid though. It seems like modern coffee just doesn't smell as good. I remember being young and being in the A and P they had coffee roasting machines in the store. Nothing smelled as good as those machines, and their fresh grinds. I chewed on a bean a few times..because the smell was so good. Do you love the smell of coffee?

It really can be! Nothing quite like the smell of bacon and eggs and coffee brewing in the morning. I have to buy some bacon!

I have always loved the smell of coffee! As a kid, my parents drank instant coffee . . . and I grew up loving that smell . I wasn't allowed to drink it of course, but my parents would allow me to make that instant coffee for them - and then I'd steal a spoon sip .

I buy coffee at a local store that toasts the grinds and it smell delicious. I always buy whole coffee beans, because when you grind the coffee it's the moment it smells better.

I have my coffee maker set on a timer so that it starts brewing right before I get up every morning. Nothing helps wake me up in the morning than smelling that fresh coffee brewing in the kitchen.

@snowy22315 I'll say! There's many mornings where the only thing that gets me out of bed is the smell of the coffee! Without that, I'm sure I would have called out sick to work or been late to work many, many times! haha

just reading the title of your post transported me back in time when I was still a Nursing student. I remember being assigned to go to a rural area where I and a team of other students can provide health care and health education to the people. We would immerse ourselves in their culture and find out what we can do to help them; it was a great experience. Anyway, we usually are woken up by the aroma of freshly roasted coffee each morning and I'm telling you, it is a way better smell than the waft of coffee you smell when you enter Starbucks for the first time. I miss those days :)

For some reason, the coffee I make now, the odor doesn't waft through the house like it did when I was a kid.

When I buy freshly roasted coffee beans and then grind it to make my coffee the aroma is terrific. It's the best way to start my day.

Yes I do love the smell of a newly opened can of coffee and the aroma of it brewing. I have a small grinder and will occasionally grind my own coffee beans but most of the time I buy it already ground. We still have those coffee grinders in our supermarket if you want to grind it there. I'm a big coffee lover

Yes, sadly, I don't think any of our local markets have a grinder.

Count me in as a fan of coffee aroma! As a young mom, I lived across the street from a huge bakery and down the street from a coffee factory. The bread was baked at night and the coffee roasted in the early morning hours. It was heaven! My hubs and I would sometimes walk across the street in the evening and buy an unsliced loaf fresh out of the oven. Then go home and scarf it down. We shared it with our friends who happened to be visiting. This was a treat for us all and I believe it was a real draw, maybe why we had so many friends/visitors, LOL.
