Dig Dug

Since I hadn't played it since the 1980's, I figured today was as good a day as any to stop in at the arcade for a game of Dig Dug.
And why not? Dig Dug was ranked the 6th most popular coin-operated video game of all-time by the website, Killer List of Video Games. It's fun! And I used to be fairly decent at it.
Dig Dug was developed by Namco in 1982. In it, you control Dig Dug, who digs through dirt while being chased by monsters, known as "Pookas" and "Fygars," a sort of underground Pac Man, if you will. You kill the monsters either by inflating them until they explode (partially inflating them slows them down,) or dropping rocks on them.
The game, as I said, is fun, and yeah, I used to be ok at it, but since it had been so long, it was as if I'd never played before. I totally spaced on the fact that you could inflate the enemies, for instance. In fact, I was a mess, dropping rocks willy-nilly, with no strategic value whatsoever. I was awful.
Next time, I'm taking more quarters. That was bad.
If you want to see how Dig Dug SHOULD be played, check out the video. This guy is good!

@teamfreak16 Too bad they do not have it at Chuck E Cheese's . . . it'd be cheaper to play!

@much2say - Does Chuckie Cheese have token specials. It's been a few years since I've been.

Board games are fun. We don't have any. Not as much fun with just two people, and we really don't know anyone close to us to invite over to play.

We have an arcade in town that just opened recently, with classic video games. I went there with a friend a few weeks ago, and we had a blast!

They are definitely still fun. I remember when they were like the only entertainment option, other than the movies. Ah, to be a teenager in the 80's again.
