Lawmakers attacked at Ball Practice

Four GOP members were fired upon Wednesday as they practiced for a charity game scheduled for today with Democrats. The police were quickly on the scene and the gunman was killed on the site. Thankfully there were no deaths and the four wounded are expected to recover. Trump gave a speech and it was the first sensible speech I've heard from him while he's been in office. I feel sure someone told him just what to say and I'm glad he listened. It's hard enough for the families as it is. My sympathy is with the wounded and their families.

Its crazy all this over political opinions..tho I would say that is more than an opinion. I hope the wounded will heal.

Killing is a terrible thing. From what I understood he had a record of compliants. He wrote letters, emailed and made phone calls continuelyto all branches of the government.

I heard about that. I hadn't heard Trump's speech though. I'm surprised a gunman could get that close to them. I'm glad the gunman was killed. I'm glad to hear they are all going to recover. I had heard that one Congressman was in serious condition.

Yes, I saw that on the news today. I am saddened by what is happening there now, as I am saddened too that there is a civil war too in one of our cities here in the Philippines.

I know that yesterday the team coaches expressed the desire to go on with the game. I also know that the one who was fatally wounded was having a time of it in the hospital. I haven't yet learned of his condition today. I am hoping it has improved. I watched video that an onlooker was able to catch and it was quite scary! Another two onlookers who were coming out of the Y explained how scary it was for them. As for Trump, I didn't hear what he had to say about it. I am glad that he kept that he kept to the script so to speak.

I saw they played today. I thought it was commendable to go on with the game and help charities. At least the shooter didn't change that. The one that was seriously injured had gone through three surveys the last I heard.

@RubyHawk Yes three surgeries and they (MSNBC) was talking about how it must be very serious as they wouldn't normally schedule these type surgeries so close together. I hope he will make it.

If he did a good speech, he surely did not write it. Look at what he tweets, only nonsense.

It is quite upsetting that the shooter seems to have been politically motivated by left-wing rhetoric labeling Republicans as evil and wanting to destroy America.

We have crazy people everywhere. But there are ways to protest lawfully. I certainly disagree with the GOP but most of us follow the law.

I heard about that yesterday. It's sad. Even though I don't like Trump, I think he did good on his unity speech.

I don't believe more security would have helped. The police were there in three minutes. There aren't enough police to be at every event.
