If only I had childcare under my belt!

I could live it up in Scotland as a nanny.
Apparently there have been several nannies that have left their position because of purported sightings / experiences of a supernatural kind. I say purported because while the nannies have claimed sightings, the homeowners have not. The children didn't weigh in or the parents didn't ask / didn't provide their children's opinion.
I believe in this type of stuff, but I am also not altogether frightened by it. I imagine I could deal with - and get used to - these occurrences - granted I felt no ill will towards me.

As a non-believer I would have no problems doing it! Especially for that wage!!

I believe but I also think I'd have enough intuition to know whether I should stay or run and hide...
@pgntwo I've had weird things happen to me before, nothing too dangerous though.

@pgntwo I have had strange and weird things happen, both to me and in my presence. I'm still a non-believer! :)

There are all different types of 'ghosts'. Some zaps your strength and all manner of things. Some people are scared so easily it is pathetic.

I wonder if those that get scared so easily are scared of actual spirits or are just getting scared of movements that can be explained away easily?

Back in our family house, it's only my dad who lives there and we came to visit him twice a year.
My cousins, other relatives and my sister says that they feel and sometimes saw sightings-apparition something like that.
But, for man years of coming/visiting our family house I never had any supernatural experience to say.
Or, maybe those spirits are just choosy

@ScribbledAdNauseum I am not glad for not having encounter with the unseen neither I will be excited to experience one.
I am not a believer of ghost, but I do believe there are bad spirits around and these bad spirits are responsible for making people scared of ghosts and other things.

It might also depend on the time of year. Some spirits are more active in the winter, or they are more easily detected. Were you glad you had no experience of supernatural activity?

There are much scarier things done by humans than by any spirit.1 person likes this

I think it would be cool. I once stayed in a haunted Bed and Breakfast.

I agree.. I mean, I don't think much scares me. Obviously it's situation by situation and I could find myself scared sh!tless but a few objects moving and sounds aren't going to scare me.
I once lived in a place where you could hear running and then it suddenly stops.

@teamfreak16 That would be pretty cool but also pretty irritating. Makes me wonder if the ghost was a child or just a girl who was particular about jewelry?
I have a cousin, well actually cousins. One of my older cousins would wake up feeling as if someone was sitting on his chest, and messing with his ear. Years later, another uncle's child would sleep in that same room from time to time and feel the same thing. That wasn't a very friendly ghost.

@ScribbledAdNauseum - This ghost rearranged my girlfriend at the time's jewelry as we slept. It was pretty cool.

I would be fine with it as well. I find "haunted" places to be cool. A lot of times it is just someone's mind playing a trick on them. I believe in the supernatural and as long as it isn't trying to hurt anyone I would be fine with it. I do have childcare experience with all the volunteering I do at youth organizations. I also would love to go to Scotland.

Yes a lot of times it can just be a trick of the mind, or even old houses settling in ways unfamiliar to it's occupants. Though I do believe there are always other - not so natural - explanations.
It would be quite the experience, wouldn't it? Unfortunately something like this wouldn't be so easy to do. The employer would have to help sponsor your residency. Unless it was a stint no more than six months (which, if memory serves, is how long you can stay before getting kicked out.)

I´d love to take that post if I was young
Haunted houses don´t have to be bad.

My thoughts exactly. Haunted houses doesn't necessarily mean the spirit is malignant.

Good grief. £50,000 to look after two kids! They must be mega rich if they can pay that kind of salary. They would be better off staying at home and looking after their own children. why have kids then palm them off to others to bring up. They are missing out so much on their children's upbringing. I would have a priest in there to exorcise the house then live there happily ever after! Gawd!

The article did make it seem as if they might be gone from the home more than they are there. Always traveling as part of their work I guess.
I can't help but think "Why have children?"
