Go fish.....

United States
June 19, 2017 11:59am CST
.....no I don't mean the card game LOL It's not a sunny day and while it was OK for Ruby to swim, not a good choice for humans. So my husband said, "What do you want to do?"...I said, "Go fish!" Off to the pond and within 2 minutes I caught my first one. We were only back there 20 minutes and I caught well over a dozen. Mostly bream, but a sunny or two also. They are all safety back in the water and will live another day. Still no rain, and we need it badly. How's things in your neck of the woods? Photo is mine.

A terrible heat wave here, outside is very hot, inside is not too bad, in the basement is almost fresh. I only go out early in the morning and late in the evening.

@AbbyGreenhill Our basement also maintains the same temperature all year long. If necessary I move to work down there.

@LadyDuck I keep my house cook enough for comfort. We have an oversized condenser and I don't have to run it at a super low temperature and it doesn't run constantly.

When I"m out in the heat I'm not working, I'm in the pool and even then only an hour or so. Basements are usually cool...ours maintains the same temperature all year long.

It's been raining so much here in Florida that I'm expecting to see fish cruising up and down the roads and sidewalks soon! haha We're already getting heavy rains from the outer bands of that tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico that technically isn't even a tropical system yet! lol

So nice you can just go right over there and fish Abby. Do you eat the fish?

No - we do catch and release only. If we ate them then we would have none to catch! I am not a fan of fish - shrimp and other things yes, but fish no so much.

I'm ready to sing the Rain, rain go away song. It's pouring at the moment, but checking the forecast it will stop around noon. I hope so. Good for you catching so many fish. So you don't catch them to eat them.

We do catch and release, they are small fish only about 8 inches long right now. We do have some catfish that are over two feet and weigh 3 pounds, but we throw them back too. Not a fan of fish - shrimp yes! Our rain is to start Thur and end Sun.

When you fish in your pond, do you ever keep the fish and cook them to eat?

I don't like fish - to eat. We buy the fish for the pond so we can fish them. They go right back in the water. They are also small. I wouldn't waste my time if I did like fish!

The weather forecast is for severe storms coming through out area today. I'm hoping they're wrong about the severe part and we only get some rain and maybe thunder/lightening. The high winds, flooding and hail aren't adjectives I want to hear in the forecast

High winds I can deal with, hail too, but when they throw i the 'tornado' word that's when I get upset. They said we were going to have that during the night, but all we got was a few drops of rain.

Too small, wouldn't even be a mouthful. We have them for fun, not for eating.
