In a funk. My cat died.

I wasn't sure I wanted to write about this. It's a depressing time for me.
I walked out on my back deck Saturday night and found my sweet cat Stretch had died there.
She was just laying there.. My roommate had even walked by her because he thought she was sleeping..
I knew something wasn't right. I stood over her and said "Are you dead?" Of course hoping she would twitch an ear or look up at me..
She didn't! I prodded her.. She didn't move. I saw drool under her face.. I yelled for my roommate.. He came back and checked for breathing.. She was gone.. But only recently so..
And we have no idea why.. She was fine that morning. She was only about 6 or 7.. Too young to die.. She was such a character our house feels empty.. Even with 15 other cats..
She would always meet me out front every morning. She loved water. Getting wet did not bother her like it does most cats..
A little piece of my heart is gone.. It's buried in the back yard.

@youless yes that is possible. But I think she might have looked sick first.. I don't know.. I did have that happen before and I got some vitamin K and started treating all of my cats because I didn't know which one had eaten half of the poisoned rat I found in my back yard.

Sorry that your little girl has left you. Could be some food poisoning or a bite?

I am sending a hug, as you may remember I lost my sweet dog Honey in March and I still cry every time I think about her. Our pets sure to get into our hearts dont they? I am so sorry for your loss.

@minx267 That is very strange. Do you think it could be a heart attack? Or is it hot there?

I am so sorry for your loss. My cat is the same age and I would be crushed if I lost him. They really become part of your family.

rest in peace, Stretch. she is the one in the picture, right? she has the common color of fur- that of a tiger.
it is so depressing to see our pets die while we are asleep, out, or doing something.
rest now, Stretch. go to the rainbow bridge.
(how did she die? was she given poisoned food by other people?)

I have been through this. It's takes awhile to get over the sadness.
