Several people that saw the photo of the scurry of squirrels I posted yesterday mentioned Scar wasn't around. It's true he was napping at the time, but normally it wouldn't make much of a difference.
As can be seen in this short video clip (28 seconds) Scar and the squirrels normally ignore each other and co-exist peacefully.
Admittedly, he has killed one...I didn't see it happen, maybe the squirrel got mouthy with him and he decided to teach it a lesson.

It's funny watching him sit out at the tree in the dark at times like he is waiting for his 'buddies' to show up.

I once named a cat Squirrel because she loved to sit at the large livingroom window and watch them out in the back yard. She was also a bit squirrelly, climbing the walls, etc. Unfortunately, she got out and was run over.

He does mess with them occasionally, but usually he can't be bothered...he has more important things to do...like nap

I guess Scar feels that they are not a threat @JolietJake besides, the word around town has spread not to mess with Scar.
