Well since it's a holiday and all I figured I would go all out, or at least a little out and make country fried steak, gravy, mashed potatoes and mushroom rice. Because if you can't overload on carbs on holidays- when can you do it?
Are you doing anything special for the holiday or for lunch?

We are having hot dogs only..and if it werent for my son buying them yesterday (no buns) we wouldn't have anything..Its fine.

I don't put much oompfh into tthe holiday meals unless its christmas and stuff- but even then its just a meal.

@thislittlepennyearns same. Christmas and thanksgiving. But do like having either hot dogs or burgers for the 4th.

That sounds tasty. Two days ago, when my husband was off work, he bought spare ribs at the grocery because they were on sale (a part of the 4th of July sale at the store). He barbecued them on the grill. That was our big celebration meal.

@thislittlepennyearns There is a small grocery chain in our area. It is in only around 6 to 8 towns including ours. It is called Quality Foods. That is where I do a lot of my shopping. I do go to Wal-Mart too, but I like Quality Foods because they have great Meat and they have good deals on the holidays. Also, they have great Produce. That is where we bought the ribs.

Lunch is long gone and just our usual. Dinner will be london broil, corn, beans, salad and chocolate cake.

@Marty1 Grilled - you don't cook a London broil on the stove top - grill or broil in the oven.

That's not necessarily true @AbbyGreenhill, just because you don't cook it that way doesnt mean it can't be done . There are many stove top London broil recipes

A banana breakfast, skip lunch and have bbq around one o`clock , when hungry go back for more!
Yes I will have corn and potato salad today too. but that means I have to work it off being diabetic so I am thinking about mowing grass in the swimsuit, when I get out turn on the water hose
