It's Nice to Know a Service Works As Advertised

One of the biggest threats we have today is identity theft. We can be careful, and yet someone down at the bank can set the password to your name, date of birth, social security number, and account numbers as "password" and BANG, your information is compromised.
For years I've had LifeLock, the service that monitors things and alerts you to suspicious activities on your credit. It's relatively cheap (about $90 a year, and the service is guaranteed that they'll do all the legwork if something happens...that's worth ninety bucks by itself!), and believe it or not....it actually works as advertised!
Earlier today I mentioned that I was dumping that overpriced cable/phone/internet service I have. I'm replacing internet with AT&T (for about $60 less than Spectrum wants for internet, or $120 less than the monthly bill).
While I was on the phone to AT&T this morning, getting things set up, my phone buzzed. It was LifeLock. They wanted to know if that was me setting up service with AT&T. I texted them and told them it was indeed me.
If it hadn't been me they would have notified the credit companies being checked, which would have rejected the application.
It's not the first time, either. One year I bought my iPad for myself on my birthday at Best Buy. That was a Sunday afternoon. When I got home there was a message on my voice mail from LifeLock, wanting to know if I had made a "big ticket" purchase at Best Buy.
Yes, it works as advertised. Nice to see that in this day and age, especially considering what LifeLock does in the realm of credit and identity protection.
Here's a song, not about stealing identities, but stealing time. This is my favorite Gerry Rafferty song, and one of my favorite songs, period.
One of my favourite tracks from 'City to City' is this beautiful song 'Stealin' Time'. Gerry Rafferty came across as a shy, introverted performer, who did li...

This happened to my girlfriend. She still had to pay taxes on the wages the girl earned on her Social Security number.

I have had hackers getting into my email accounts for many years. I changed my name online and use fake info just incase. With the black net now days there is so much of this going on I have gotten used to it. I get an email any time someone other than myself tries to get in now so that is good. Like you said. Lifelock is a great thing for those who feel the need of it.

That's a neat story about Life Lock! Kind of like having a "good" Big Brother watching over you. I'm a bit more commercial about Gerry Rafferty ("Baker St." & "Right Down The Line"). But I like how you used the Rafferty song as a reference to stealing. Creative...
