Screw the CD rack

There...I said it.
Yes, I have CD's...and DVD's...and cassettes...and VHS tapes...even 8-tracks.
But I hardly ever listen to any of them.
Meanwhile, I have run out of space for albums...which I do listen to (in case you haven't noticed).
And I had also run out of space for any more shelves for my vinyl.
So I killed two birds with one stone...I sold the CD rack today, which frees up room to put more shelves in for my albums.
Plus $75 never hurts.
Now...should I buy more albums...or get shelves first?

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do, even building my own won't be cheap. Albums weigh quite a bit, using particle board instead of real wood means the shelves would eventually warp.

Those are a bit more expensive that what I hoped, unfortunately. I may just buy the wood and make my own.

@JolietJake I used to get scrap lumber and concrete blocks for shelves. No scrap lumber anymore and have you seen the price of concrete blocks?! Geez, once something creative become a fad it becomes unaffordable!!

More albums!! You can always get milk crates for the albums or use the floor as a shelf.

Floor is out of the question, I barely have room to walk in here as it is

You listen to albums??
We have a media unit, but we hardly ever open it . . . filled with CDs and DVD's . . . and still quite a few VHS tapes (we got rid of the cassettes a while ago). Maybe one day we'll have to get rid of it all too
.

You better buy some new shelves quick before you succumb to a great vinyl deal.

I not only got rid of my vinyl but the stereo, too, before moving. I hadn't listened to any of 'em in years, and the stereo was rapidly becoming crap. I still have a hoard of music cassettes, but the stereo ate a couple and the boom box is starting to make weird noises when I play a tape. So I just listen to the radio.

Why not buy a shelf and some albums? A little bit of both is nice.

You can be called a collector in this respect. What interests me is that old-fashioned and unique shelf.

@JolietJake He is skillful at building it and the shelf is a real handicraft.

It was hand-made by the father of my brother's ex-girlfriend, he also built one of my record shelf units.

YOU own CDs? Say it isn't so!!!!!
Oh, to answer your question, get more albums....that way you'll know how many shelves you'll need.

@JolietJake -- and here I have all these LPs because they haven't been issued on CD. Strange world.

Tough decision. More shelves is necessary, but so are new albums.

That's a big dilemma. I think buy the albums first, as shelves you can always buy.

DVD's and VHS tapes...the books are in the bookshelves...and boxes...because I need more shelves for them too
