This would have been a great weekend for camping

Instead here I am sitting at home on a beautiful weekend. I did manage to get a walk in but I can't go very far before I get tired and have to come back home and lay down. Everybody else is out having fun. I haven't heard from my kids since the first day home from the hospital. I guess they know I am ok so they don't check in on me any more. While I was at the hospital I seen them every day which was nice. My fiance takes good care of me but this is hard on him too. It is hard when I have to depend on him for the littlest things. I can't even get out of bed without help for the next 3-4 weeks. I can't lift anything over 5lbs or even open the fridge door. I know it is all for the best so that my breast bone can heal probably but it's makes me feel useless. Having a down day today but I know tomorrow will be better.

I am so sorry for all that you are going through. =( I am sure the smallest of things that you can't do right now must be super frustrating-the things we usually take for granted until something like this happens. I hope you will feel so much better soon.

Thanks Jennifer. I do get frustrated and upset but I know it is for the best but it is hard when I am use to doing things for myself. Even cooking meals, my fiance doesn't always cook the best choices for me and my new lifestyle changes that I have to make. I will be happier when I can prepare my own meals. He is an excellent cook but it's not the food I can eat now since my heart attack and surgery.

@Marty1 I havr talked to him about it but he doesn't seem to get it. What he thinks is healthy and what is healthy isn't always the same things. He does okay but it is not the choices I would make if I were preparing my own meals.

Sometimes I think recovering is harder mentally than physically especially when you are so used to being active and independent. I certainly can understand how disappointed you are to be missing all this beautiful camping weather. Sending hugs

Just be patient and let the healing process run its course. You'll be better off in the long run. I would love to be camping this weekend too, but it's just too damn hot here in Florida. But I did reserve a campsite on the beach at Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine, FL for November. Had to make he reservation far in advance because just about all the campsites in Florida's state parks sell out during the winter. I've only camped on the beach once (when I was a teenager), so I'm really excited at the opportunity to do it again!

There will be more beautiful time in the future. Right now you just need to have a good rest and try to get well soon. Then later you can go to camp or do something funny together when you recover. You won't miss anything

You've been thru so much in such a short period of time. An emotional roller coaster of sorts, as have your family and fiancée. I would have to think that he's grateful that he can have you at home and wouldn't trade opening the fridge door or helping you with things for the alternative, which was you being where you were a week ago. I remember our friend was a long time healing, but then it happened so quickly for him, and he got into exercising and he's felt so great since then. In time you will also. And then you can go camping!

I'm so sorry you feel so down and out now, but you will regain your strength day by day. You will have many, many days of camping to look forward to and a much healthier life once you recuperate. Chin up!

I absolutely know that feeling! How you feel and how your fiance feels. Tony is just at 6 weeks from having his liver operation, I am doing all the heavy lifting... well everything and he feels useless too. Its not easy but I can do it, its not forever. I will cuss him if he lifts anything! He has 2 more weeks to go before he is allowed. Tony said last night he is so sick of staying home, but remember he has been home and no fun for 8 months. Cancer will do that, but he is in remission and soon he will be free again. BUT I also remember hating just doing nothing after surgery and the waiting! Time flies so mylot, or make a blog or do something to keep your mind busy.

You are going to have to be patient. There's going to be ups and downs in your recovery but time is on your side and the downs will recede.
