John McCain, Arizona Senator, has aggressive brain cancer...

He's been a senator for 30 years and claims to be a Republican but more often sides with the Democrats.
I am disgusted with his performance for the conservative party but I'm sad that he has brain cancer. I think he should have retired years ago--like 20 years ago--but I would never wish him or his family the curse of brain cancer.
However "Diana Orrock, a national committeewoman for the Nevada GOP, shared a story headlined “Please Just F---ing Die Already.” In retweeting the piece, which was published on Medium, Orrock wrote “Amen.”
This was a Republican wishing another Republican dead. Politics has gotten completely out of hand. For the past 30 years, as long as I have been politically aware, the two parties have been disgusting--wishing each other dead, reveling in each others' personal tragedies, saying they should be assassinated, burning each other in effigy, and the latest the Kathy Gifford holding a Trump bloody head and traumatizing the president's young son.
I won't lie, I'm glad McCain will be retiring--or at least I hope he will. He is a shadow of his former self, having sold out decades ago to special interests. I'm sorry he'll die like that but I'm glad we will FINALLY get another senator. I've voted against him in every election but all the other idiots keep voting him back in. Finally, we might have a tiny chance of getting a senator that may just be interested in serving the people that elected him/her to the office.
I'm just appalled at the hate and vitriol in politics nowadays. I hate what McCain does "for the people" that only benefits himself but I certainly don't wish him a painful death.
Do you feel the same about your senator or congress person? They are so deceptive, so dishonest. Why do we ever, EVER, re-elect anyone?!

He should have retired 20 years ago. I hope he will do so immediately and spend some quality time with his loved ones.

That's because they are only their for their own enrichment, not to work for the people. They are all greedy, horrid people--including McCain. I'm sorry he has cancer but he should use this as a valid reason to retire immediately and enjoy his time with his family. Most people live a matter of months or just over a year after diagnosis of this type of cancer.

I agree but I don't know if he will. Politicians seem to have an inflated sense of their own importance to the world but I hope he will heed the call of reality and enjoy the truly important things in life rather than return to "work".

@dragon54u He has a 4% chance of surviving 5 more years but he plans on returning to DC. He's 80 and you would think he would concentrate on health and family.

Nor have I. But we get the government we deserve and we have not demanded that the government serve us--rather, we as a whole serve the government and most people seem to be alright with that. I'm not but I seem to be a lone voice in the wilderness.

I agree, I don't know much about McCain's poltics but a shame that he has this disease. I hate it when people make jokes about other people getting bad illnesses or worse. Such as Kathy Gifford (that was uncalled for. As much as I may not like him, Trump does have a family, and is another human being. It is not right to joke like that.) Or during the election people were saying how the thought Hillary was in poor health or hoped for it... no, that's going too far, you don't have to like her, but wishing misery on others is uncool I agree totally.
