Awww, he was so adorable, my boy Spunky.

Spunky in 1992 shortly after I brought him home.

I took this picture in October 1992 of the kitten I'd just brought home. He wasn't completely weaned yet and when he met Gracie, my Golden Retriever, he fell in love with her. He was so playful and jumped around all over the place with Gracie at his heels keeping an eye on him. That's how he got his name, Spunky. Wasn't he just so very adorable? I will share another shot of him with his beloved Gracie.

Yes, he sure was... He's beautiful! And it's lovely how he's never scared of Gracie and took her as a 'mother-figure' almost...

He looks gorgeous and aren't golden retrievers just the best at baby-sitting any small things?

Yes and yes, I've heard that so often, I wish she could have lived a much longer life but God must have created dogs to teach us how to love, lose then love again.

@rebelann There are too many pets that outlive their owners. Turtles and parrots come to mind but others we are destined to lose usually.

Yes, parrots, turtles and koi have really long life spans @JudyEv they really shouldn't be in captivity.

Wow, that was a very long time ago. He was adorable. When I had my lab-husky and then the cat I had before Sophie came along Carli, my dog loved her and protected her too.

Yes, they will do that for each other if they are raised together. What did your husky/lab look like?
