I'm perfect!

Did you know that? I sure didn't. I thought I needed to change a few things about myself. I know I am rather abrasive at times, and I'm not always real cheerful. And I was going to work on some of my less-than-stellar qualities. But I found out I don't need to! Oddly enough, some woman referred to me as 'Mr Perfect' yesterday. And since you can't improve upon perfection, I guess I don't need to change anything about me! This sure makes life a lot easier...

Perfect, like beauty is not always definitive.

Unfortunately I think they meant it sarcastically

Currently, I am present. In the past, I was imperfect, though I had been past perfect. In the future I will have been perfect. Perfection is, in itself, a confection of 'per', meaning 'through' or 'complete' and the verb 'facere', meaning 'to make' or 'to do'. Well, fac me perfecte!, as they say in Romania, though, to a Roman, it might mean something rather different!

Don't waste time trying to improve perfection, we'll just sit back and admire you from afar

Take it as a compliment. No matter how sarcastic it sounded, take it as a compliment.

It certainly does simplify matters because trying to change someone like you would be extremely difficult.

I'm glad that you took that compliment to heart. You're going to end up with another alias the way things are going.

Personally , I prefer to be "imperfect" as it doesn't rob people the wrong way.
