Oh Great, Have to Miss Another Day Due to Pink Eye!

Our Little Miss woke several times last night. Once she crawled into bed with us. The other times she whimpered and I had to console her before she fell back to sleep.
This morning she came down the hall with her usual smile on her pretty little face. I noticed that her eyelid was swollen and crusty. Her eye was pink too. Yup, she has pink eye.
Because it is very contagious and will need treatment, I can't bring her to daycare. She will need to see her pediatrician today. So, it means I have another day off.
The powers that be won't be pleased that I need to take the day. Thankfully I only have 2 clients. Only one really needs coverage. I worry most about her. I hope they can find coverage for her.
Hopefully I won't get it! The way my eyes feel, I may already have it. Need to check it out in the mirror. AHHH! It is always something.

That is so contagious, I hope that you didn't get it or you'll have to miss even more work.
When our son was 5 he had it a couple of times, and then we realized it was just resurfacing.
When he couldn't go to the care-givers while we worked, he'd go to my parents' place.
Our nephew, who wasn't in school yet, would come over and play, and then he'd get it, and then our son would catch it back from him. After our son had it for the second time, I took time off of work to get him over it and stop it completely.

I will ask the doc for a refill on the treatment just in case I do get it. My husband will probably get it too.

@Nawsheen her eye was pretty red last night before she went to bed. She woke this morning rubbing it and I told her not to rub it. She went back to sleep. I hope that the medicine is helping a bit. She has to be on it for 24 hours before she can go back to daycare.

Dianne we have been lucky so far. I have to go pick up her medicine soon. Can't go back to daycare for 24 hours though.
My daughter is coming over to watch her tomorrow.

@DianneN my husband is driving to town to pick my daughter up. Little Miss will be delighted to ride in the big truck. She loves it.
What a struggle it is to get the medicine in her eye. She thinks I am going to hurt her. I may have to call the doctor to see if they can prescribe drops instead.

I am normally never sick. Well, have had problems that you can't catch though. Since having her in our home I have had the stomach bug, and a cold. Yay me.

The good news is that it is very treatable and will be better in no time but yes, I really hope you don't get it but you might want to be pro-active and treat it anyway.

I called the doctor's office. They don't make appointments for pink eye, but will call in a prescription.
I'll have to send my husband for it.

I hope you don't have pink eye too. Maybe the pediatrician could take a quick peek at your eye while Little Miss is being checked? Hope you don't need more time off

They wouldn't make her an appointment. Sad they would call in a prescription. As I recall that is what happened when my kids were little too.
My husband is ticked that I didn't bring her in. Tried to explain to him what they said. He is new to this parenting thing.
