Yes, I was trying to get a shot of this hollyhock but I swear there was a hummer drinkin just before I clicked the button Those lil tykes are so fast I have to wonder if maybe they're ghosts. Maybe they're camera shy??

Thank you, at least the flower came out good but what a boon if I'd captured that hummer.

Butt, butt, butt ...... ok, well I did grow their favorite flowers .... one of them anyway .... soon the morning glories will blossom and they'll really have some choices.

Fast is right. Do you have a feeder for them? You make the syrup with sugar and water and they love it - a great photo op!

I prefer not to put up hummer feeders. I've read a few articles about what they eat when there isn't a feeder and I just feel it's unhealthy for them to drink sugar water. Mother Nature is the best for wildlife.

I think they are shy. Plus they are faster than a speeding bullet. Pretty picture of a flower though.

Could be it was shy but I did have one of them check me out a few days ago, it flew right up to me but it only lasted a couple of seconds, I got the feeling it wanted to know who I was

Yes they are @HazySue I think people who put out hummer feeders have better luck getting photographs but I won't do that because I think it is unhealthy for them.
