My Friends Went on a Bus Trip to the Medical Marijuana Store

Last week, some of my retired friends went on an organized bus trip to the nearest medical marijuana store. The trip was arranged by the Cannabis Club at my retirement community. Even though I was a teen in the 1960s and was very familiar with recreational pot during those years, it is amazing to me that it has become such an ordinary and acceptable product in 2017. "The Times They are A'Changin" as Joan Baez sang (and many other since then). The photo above shows one of my friends shopping at the store. The picture has been published in a number of California newspapers, including the one below: http://www.thecannifornian.com/cannabis-news/seniors-board-cannabus-trip-medical-marijuana-dispensary/ Could you ever imagine there would be a time in which people in their mid-70s would be shopping in a legal marijuana store for their choice of marijuana products?

Fair enough, but you get in a enough pain. People rave about how effective it is as far as physical pain.

I can't really imagine it but are they buying for medicinal reasons? I presume they are. I wish they'd think more seriously about allowing its use in Australia for pain relief at least.

@DeborahDiane I can imagine that it would be a bit of a shock. I just wish they'd at least investigate its efficiency (in Australia) but they seem determined to try to stop people using it.

@DeborahDiane Let's hope there is soon enough pressure on Australian pollies that they'll start changing their minds about legalising its use.

@DeborahDiane That's true. It certainly does seem to have a place in the realm of pain control.

I know- it's more than ordinary now. When I was going to a doc's appt. the other week, I passed a clinic in the medical bldg. called a Cannabis Clinic and it was honestly packed with older patients. I've been making jokes about it ever since!

@DeborahDiane I was kind of shocked to say the least- it all seemed so casual and regular- and the people in the waiting room were our age- they could have at least worn tie-dye t-shirts and beads--ha!

@DeborahDiane Ha! The clinic was actually packed with regular looking people and seniors so I do joke about it when I tell that story- so your post here was timely for me!

I think that if its used in safe doses for extreme pain that could be good. I have seen on the Television people have used it for painful conditions that did not respond to normal pain killers.

@DeborahDiane Maybe a certain safe dose can be really good and much better than boxes and boxes of pain killers that might not do anything for them. Glad it worked out for her.

@DeborahDiane I don't have any low opinion about people who take MJ. It is also the best intervention to alleviate the localized pain secondary to serious medical conditions. I am also in a medical field and do understand how they feel.

With legal recreational and medical pot here in Oregon, there are stores on every corner it seems. Some of the high CBD edibles or capsules can do a lot for pain. Anne got a medical card about a year ago, but we would never smoke the stuff (again).

A few years ago I would never have believed how acceptable it is in many age groups. I live in Oregon so there are several of these dispensaries. I've been in one but only for a CBD edible.

@DeborahDiane I'm in pain as well!!! LOL Good thing some people are open minded about alternative medicine such as these. Some consider this taboo and will never try to use this.
