I deleted a post and it was probably necessary

Earlier I posted something article about a bishop asking for alms or donations for the priest legal fees in regards to his pedophile case.
But then some one here replied to my post and said the whole article was fake and the Church is doing their own investigation.
I was supposed to just delete the link but I end up deleting the entire post by accident. Maybe it was for the best.
Maybe I should be more careful with what I read in the internet...fake news every where.

@Letranknight2015 that is the downside of technology, because some eventually believe in everything they see and read on internet.

The church does their investigation, but not always punishes the culprit. Although I have great faith in the new Pope.

Hello @marguicha They said the only punishment he could ever get was no longer being put into service. But Jail time is a better punishment since the girl was a minor.

I saw the same fake news and if I did not say anything about it being a fake news, I would be doing a disservice to you @Letranknight2015 .

@Letranknight2015 the priest doing the crime really happened. However, the CBCP asking for donations is not.

Or simply propaganda just to destroy some one's reputation @holdoors even if the news was not entirely true it can destroy some one's life.

You are right. You don't want to be spreading false news. I usually check with news sources I consider trustworthy before I post a story that is on social media

How do you check your sources? @Freelanzer as far as I'm concern right now I got no way to see wether the news is real or not. I'm glad a friend of mine here said it.

The church asking for donation for his legal fees article was a fake news but him committing pedophile acts and arrested was not @sallypup

I agree, there are so many fake news on the net. Do not just believe it. But there are genuine news sites/posts. That priest is being investigated by the church hierarchy.

Hello @acelawrites I am glad they are doing an investigation for this priest, considering that he has done it twice. I'm sure he's not the only one doing this.

Oh, good point ... that would have been in poor taste to ask donations for such a thing had it been real. There are some convicing "fake" news out there
