No more Salers cattle - it's now all Limousins

We went for a walk yesterday from our camp-site near Felletin and came across some attractive Limousin cattle. For the past few days we’ve seen nothing but the dark red Salers breed of cattle but now the lighter Limousins are very prevalent together with the almost white Charolais.
The Limousins are popular in Australia too but here they seem to be mostly horned whereas few cattle in Australia are now horned. The Limousin is large-framed and very muscular. This bull was on one side of the road with his own harem but there was a mob of females on the other side and I’m sure he would have liked to have made their acquaintance.
He looks a bit wistful, doesn't he?

He is a good looking beast... I bet he's checking out the ladies in the next field...

He is a most handsome critter. Interesting. Does he charge for a ride?

He does at that, like a country singer on the sixth week of a tour.

Our cattle don`t have that hump on the back of the neck, that looks painful!

I think it is mostly muscle. This bull is polled but all the cows we saw were horned.

Weird how some grow horns and some don't.
