Now They Say Coffee Will Help You Live Longer

I was just reading an article on Life Extension that after a large study- actually one of the largest studies on the effects of coffee-- it seems coffee will lengthen your life! The study has illustrated that drinking about 3 cups of good old 'Java' can actually lower your risk of mortality from any cause and get you living longer.
The study said that coffee contains a lot of phenols and antioxidants- that tend to prevent cancer and protect us from disease.
Hmmm!
I only have one per day or a strong tea so may look into visiting my neighborhood Starbucks a few extra times.
So keep saving folks cause it looks like you could be around for longer than you think, if you love your coffee. How do you like yours- I just like a little milk or cream- no sugar- and a medium strong brew. Plus it tastes much better when someone buys me one--LOL!

Saw this online the other day and I must say I'm glad that I've started taken a liking to black coffee recently.

@MarymargII so far, I've limited myself to just one cup. That seems to be enough to do the trick for me.

@allen0187 yes, me too- but sometimes I feel like another one early afternoon. Don't have any after that time though or won't sleep. :)

It does sound good but I can't have more than two cups and not too late or I won't sleep well!

I think the study limited it to not much more than those 3 cups.

I love coffee...so am pleased to hear it....until the next report that says that coffee / caffeine is bad for us... but either way.... I shall continue to enjoy coffee...whatever the scientists say....

@MarymargII , yes, it is a pity that coffee can sometimes keep one awake.

If you can get to sleep- yes it is- I get a restless night if I drink too many!

Interesting study. My X drank a pot or two a day - he passed at 66, he also had cancer. My parents drank coffee for every meal, they passed in their 80's, Dad had 5 bypass surgery in his 60's. I wonder how they came up with the idea that coffee makes you live longer.

Haha! Well that didn't work for those people- who knows- they said it was a huge study but it obviously doesn't work for everyone.

I will live forever! I can drink a pot a day but I am cutting back to 3-4 cups a day.
I like mine black with a little splenda.

Yes I don't know how much they mean but I think it was about 3 cups- anyway.
