Saw my daughter and the granddog this weekend

I drove up to Portland again Friday morning to spend that day and Saturday with my daughter and the little Chihuahua who still weighs about 3.5 pounds and won't get much bigger.
Anne had planned to go to Central Oregon to see her friend Kelly, but the heat and smoke postponed her trip and she opted to stay home. My daughter and I had some great meals, walked around Reed College campus.
Saturday morning drove out to Sauvie Island, one of the largest river islands in the US at 26000 acres (10,522 ha). It is mostly a farming area and its flat terrain attracts thousands of bicyclists. There are a number of houseboats along the Columbia River. I could not find a way to get a photo there.
The island lies between two channels of the Columbia River and the Willamette river about ten miles northwest of Portland.
It was a nice weekend visit with my daughter.

You had a wonderful time with your daughter.I think Chihuahuas do not grow to be very big.She looks as if she is thinking about some thing.

nice to see this cutie again. i guess as long as she's not underweight for her age, it's okay. when you say 'heat and smoke' does it mean there's a forest fire?

We have a number of fires burning in Oregon now and winds have even blown smoke down from fires in British Columbia, Canada. The heat has given up for now and the smoke has dissipated.

Thank you! It was quite a treat. I headed there once back in the 1960s, but lost my way. The property there must be worth a fortune today.

Some weigh up to eight or so pounds, but many are quite small.

Yes, it would have been good, but she had plenty to do, getting a new art quilt finished in time to submit for a show. It is quite different than anything else she has done.

@JamesHxsatic I'm so glad to hear about your nice visit, with your daughter Anne and her 3.5 pound pup! He's adorable:) Oregon is a gorgeous state, I've been informed by others who've had the privilege to travel there. My husband and I bike, so maybe this area will be a consideration for us, next summer!:)
