Not sure is that is two words or not, but the previous owners planted it and we can't see to get rid of it. It's even showing up in another garden bed yards away. Hubby even tried burning it after having dug up a massive root. Obviously that isn't enough because it's growing like a weed. Actually, we should turn this into a horse-radish farm. You can ignore it, burn it, pull it out... and it still grows!

Horseradish is more invading than mint and bamboo. You need to use a chemical on the big leaves to kill the plants.

@Hate2Iron I I have the problem with the bamboo, it has gone wild, I had do dig a part of the lawn to remove all the roots.

Unfortunately, horseradish is one of those plants where every little piece of root which gets left in the ground is likely to sprout and grow. That makes it exceedingly difficult to get rid of and, in fact, the more you try to dig it up, the better it seems to like it! It's one of the handful of plants for which Roundup/Glyphosate is probably the most effective. I don't normally like glyphosate (it will kill anything green) but if, instead of spraying, you wet a rag with it and wipe it well over the leaves, you can avoid killing any other plants. Fortunately, horseradish has large leaves and so it's fairly easy to use this method.

Actually, I just might try that. I pulled out a ton of leaves yesterday and you are right... they are huge. I now know what I will be doing on a regular basis. I now have something new on my to-do list on a daily basis!!

@Hate2Iron You will probably have to apply the treatment two or three times at intervals but it really is the only way to kill the roots.

@owlwings Will do... I really don't want this stuff. It's growing through my nasturtiums!!

When you dig a plant up leave a good amount of dirt around the plant. If you leave even a tiny bit of root it will come back. Maybe start making your own horseradish sauce and selling it...I love it on a roast beef sandwich.
