If only trophy hunting were illegal everywhere. But those damn manufacturers of assault rifles would be out of business and they can't have that

Exactly @DianneN I just wonder how those thugs get them in the first place, you'd think any law enforcement agency would melt them down to prevent them being stolen and sold to them.

Is this the same insect that we were wondering about because I do not see any proboscis here. :) Yes..I am glad though sorry for the family and I don't know whether the hunter was called there to get some man eating animal. Trophy hunters heh...reminded me of that Robert Shaw role in Jaws. Sometimes, they are called to solve the problem...then it would be sad..otherwise, it is fine.

That hunter wanted to kill elephants. I just don't see any reason for anyone to kill one of those. Come to think of it, I don't see killing just for trophies, people who do should be sent to the front lines of a war where they can shoot off all they want and maybe meet their fate as befits a killer. I was wondering the same thing about this insect. This time I made it a point to get as close as I could for a better shot but this was the best I could do. I didn't notice a proboscis either but that could be because of the angle of the shot.

@rebelann .. For trophies it is just ridiculous...out here we have man eating tigers who target little children or elderly people..so hunters are occasionally called to kill them..

It's totally different when hunting for survival @vandana7 but like you said, it's ridiculous for anyone to hunt just because they want to kill something.

@rebelann According to the Bible, whatsoever a person sows that will they also reap. What goes around, comes around.

But sometimes it seems like they do @kobesbuddy the problem with karma or reaping what you sow is that it usually happens many years after the events.

@rebelann To put it in clear English, nobody gets away with anything!:( They think that it's hidden, but it gets revealed, in time.
