Is the world mad? The hot water challenge.

I just was so shocked that it took me some time to come to mylot. The new challenge so that "you can have fun" is to throw hot water over someone who is unaware. It could harm the victim very much and depending where and how much, it could kill someone. And that is going viral. I told you how my friend burned her hand with some hot water trying to fill a hot water bottle. When I saw her, Two weeks later, and after she had been taken care at the hospital (having bandages and all that) the burned hand was absolutely red. I cannot imagine how it would have been if the quantity of water had been more or in another place. These challenges that go viral are a new kind of violence, a new kind of terrorism, as I see it. What are authorities doing to end it?

I haven't heard of this. It is stupid and illegal. Over here anyone that did this could be charged (as a minimum) with assault and maybe even gbh which results in a custodial sentence.

Those stupid challenges must be stopped BEFORE they become viral.

@LadyDuck I don't know how to stop them as most social media sites don't do much/any moderating. What may discourage people are authorities coming down on the perpetrators very hard with jail sentences.

And what if they are children? Now children have access to smartphones, computers and know how to use them better than us.

I wonder who starts those stupid challenges. Last year it was to punch in the face someone you met in the street. Those idiots should be sent in jail.

I agree. But the law is not prepared for this technological era.

@marguicha The Laws are no more serious enough, burglars are out after one week, people is not almost jailed when they kill someone.

That is stupid and dangerous! I don't know what's wrong with people or why people want to hurt others.

This is more than stupid. The people that do that are out of their minds and so are the ones that start this stupid game in the web.

What a horrible thing to do. Why would anyone throw hot water on a person? These challenges are going too far.

Anna just said that once there was a challenge about punching someone (anyone) on the face. I´d make laws against any "dare" that attemt to other people´s well being.
