In the Trenches

I know I shouldn't apologise for LIVING in REAL time not being on MyLot 24/7, but I have missed you all and the last few days I have flopped to bed from sheer exhaustion.
Yes - I have been in the trenches!
My hands are bruised and full of small cuts, my arms ache, my back is bent, my legs feel like wobbly rubber and my gluteus maximus is taking the strain.
Our A Green at the Bowling Club was in dire need of remodelling. Apparently, its framework and structure had sunk 10cm and was sagging at the edged. So our greenskeeper thought it best to remodel and refurbish the green . . . . with the help of anyone that can use a spade (shovel) rake, wheelbarrow, pickaxe and other heavy objects.
The job is taking forever - but then it's only the non-working and pensioners that are helping - we might have to check with Welfare that we are not exploiting the rights of the AGED? ha ha
Hopefully, it will be over soon and I will have more time to myself . . .
Who would ever have thought I would be remoulding a Bowling green?

the greens always look so relaxing to play bowls on - never imagined it could be so back breaking maintaining them

yesterday was a good day looking over the first phase of the work we had done, the worst is over now its just topdressing and then waiting for Spring to deliver some delightful rain. We are taking today off and playing some bowls on the other green that has not yet been dismantled
