My legs need a pep talk.

My pain management doctor upped my pain medication last month back to what it was before I had to switch primary care physicians a few years ago. My primary care meant well, but she didn't even see my MRIs before cutting it. She mercifully referred me to a different pain management physician who took one look at my MRIs and commended me for not requiring more medication. So he put me back on my previous dose. Up until now I had attributed the burning in my legs as pain that would be under control of my pain medication was adjusted. Well, it's been adjusted, but the burning persists. I have Restless Leg Syndrome, but I don't remember this ever being a symptom. It could be the nerves from my back are just so far gone this is my new normal. I have fibromyalgia, so I guess it could be that. I have tried many things to help ease the pain, but nothing has helped. I'm not diabetic either. Any ideas?

Yes, I forgot about being active. I have been walking, but maybe I should increase it.

Would some kind of mild sedative help with the RLS? I don't know the whole thing sounds very uncomfortable, Are you sure you don't have sciatica?

I wish that I had answers for you. Have they found any cysts in your back?

@AmbiePam Yes, it is. I do like reflexology. It helps sometimes.

My best friend suffered from restless legs in her last 5 years or so of her life-she passed unexpectedly in her sleep in her early 50's from something non-related. She always told me that it was worst on Sundays because she dreaded going back into work on Monday morning. She explained hers as a form of anxiety that came out in this way. My friend was very much underweight, less then 90 pounds, and didn't suffer from diabetes. I don't know if that helps you.

I have not had that problem yet and so I have done no experience on the subject. Have you called the present doctor and told them about your situation?

I would not delay in telling that doctor about this Ambie..That does not sound right. I am so sorry for your pain..there has to be something to relieve it from those docs. You should not be suffering still

I hate to even think it but could it be a side effect of the medication? You might want to check but I think you should talk to the doctor before trying anything else.

Acupuncture might help. It seems to be something mentioned by me several times here, but so many we know have gotten great relief, so maybe that is something you could try @AmbiePam

I'm so sorry. All I heard was that Xanax is used to control restless leg syndrome. I would rely on the doctor's opinion. Feel better!

I'm sorry to hear it. Maybe ice or heat packs? Maybe there is an online message board for support for people with fibro and restless leg?
