Blue canoes make a pattern

We are slowly heading north towards Cherbourg in France where we’ll catch the ferry back to Ireland. Today we went through D’Anglés sur d’Albin which reminded us very much of Ile de Jourdain.
We wound our way through some very narrow streets flanked by very old houses, passing over a pretty bridge with a water-wheel on the right. High above on the top of a rocky gorge were the remains of a fortress. This is exactly as I would have described Ile do Jourdain too.
On the river which passed under the bridge were some canoes. A group of young people were getting ready to take out some canoes and a golden retriever was enjoying a cooling wade in the shallows.
The purple canoes tied to a central post reminded me of a lotus flower. We were able to get some fantastic photos here. For once, I don’t need to ‘borrow’ one of Vince’s photos.

More or less.
It's sad knowing we'll probably never come back to France again but you never know - perhaps we will.

I'm at least 700 miles north west of that region in the Chihuahuan desert @JudyEv about the only thing we might get is a little rain, but then this year has been a wet one for us since the end of June. I thought I'd add an image so you can see where I am compared to the disaster area, Corpus Christi.

It's the color that makes it. If they were just ordinary canoes, they would be just that. Nice, but still just plain canoes.

@JudyEv Oh, yeah, you can make out the white one as a stem. Nice.

You are a good photographer yourself! The way the canoes are arranged and the color is very attractive.

They use the word kayak too but I think perhaps they are more pointed at the ends.

Those canoes look purple to me, but it just may be the angle of the light hitting them. I'll take your word for it that they are blue! haha
They do indeed make a lotus flower pattern!

I've changed the text to purple as that's what they were. I was sitting outside in the half-dark and trying to work out if I needed to adjust the photo in any way and in that light they looked blue. Can't get away with much here!

Awesome shot! All of our canoes are either bright yellow, green or orange, a few camo.

I agree. They are arranged like flower pedals.
