Chaos Over Burger Promo

A certain burger outlet called Zark's Burgers threw in a promo in connection to its 8th anniversary. That's 8 Philippine peso per burger order. ($1 = 50 pesos). Two videos I saw on Facebook showing people going crazy over the said promo in San Mateo, Rizal. And another chaos in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. What does this means? I have seen people lining up during the Black Friday sale in the US. And I have seen it chaotic too. The difference here is, the store only opened the promos for the first 80 customers. And by the looks of it, people still continued to rallied themselves to get through the thick crowd. Would you opt in to take advantage of the promo when you get to the mall seeing this crowd?

@hereandthere Way better than 8cuts burger. Scale on 1-10. 1 as the lowest, burger king is a 5... Zarks is an 8.5...

I like burger but not on this type of situation. I'd rather stay home.

I quite never eat burgers, I would not risk to be killed for a cheap one.

@jobelbojel A lobster is pretty expensive and I would take the risk.

@topffer If they gave lobsters for free I could think twice before ignoring, but never for a burger.

Surely NOT, I would never risk to be stomped by the crowd to have a 2$ burger.

imagine a pricey burger that regularly sells for 145 pesos (US$2.84) dropping to only 8 pesos (15 cents). no wonder there was pandemonium. "To celebrate its 8th year anniversary, burger chain Zark’s Burgers sold their Ultimate Burger for only P8 each – from the original P145 – to the first 80 customers in all their branches."

@LadyDuck i wouldn't either, but controlling/organizing the crowd should have been their responsibility

@hereandthere I understand that they were cheap, but I do not even stay in line if they gave the burgers for free. I fear the crowds, especially in our days.

@LadyDuck I saw the video clips and comparisons to a zombie apocalypse are spot on. The company got the publicity that they wanted but they were put in a bad light.

Personally I would not and I like the name Santa Rosa. Its seems way too overcrowded. Did they all get their burgers or did they have to leave without anything? I can well understand the bargain thing

@jobelbojel Its a shame that as probably all the rest are thinking they can get in first and then the problem starts of them having to buy the most expensive one instead.

It's their intention or marketing strategy to attract crowds of customer. They're actually happy with the big crowd their promo gathered. It's just for 80 customers why did people need to stress themselves over a burger

Not a good marketing for me. They took pleasure on other's misfortune. It looked like they wanted to hurt others than providing services.

Promos like this is rare. That is why they joined the mob and I know they are all well aware that the promo is only for the first 80.

No. Simply put, I hate large crowds. I would just wait until another day and pay full price for one of those Zark's Burgers, and probably enjoy eating it lots better.
