If you sit outside and quietly listen you can hear music in the air. You will hear the music of the birds brightly singing. The cheerful sound of a happily singing bird is sure to make you smile. It makes a wonderful start to the day. You can almost see the musical notes floating in the air. Next time you are feeling down, try sitting outside and listen to the birds singing their happy song.

Unfortunately right now there is a neighbor playing awful loud music so I can't hear the birds singing. I love hearing the birds sing when I can though. =)

It is rather rude for them to play their music so loud. I wonder what they would do if you played your music loudly?

@HazySue I bet they would be mad if I did the same. I have more respect than that though.

That one actually works for me. Although one day when I was feeling depressed, the depression was so strong that going outside and listening to the laughter and birds at the park I went rarely worked, not fully but it helped somewhat. I do go outside and walk around and now that depression went away on its own, the sounds make me feel fully relax and calm. I go to the park more often.

Just enjoying nature many times does raise the spirit. Before you know it you start thinking of the things that are right with your life.

@HazySue The neighbors have a bunch in their yard. I did have a hummingbird feeder up this year and a make shirt bird bath.

I love the music of nature: the streams, the breeze, the insects, and of course, the birds. It's such a respite from the cacophony of modern life. I need to get to a national park to enjoy some of that!

That may be true for you! I have my windows open and hear about 40 crows croaking from the roof of a big school building opposite our house. Music is the last thing that comes to mind. :-)

Crows to me are not musical at all. They croak rather than sing.

Thanks for the reminder. Yeah, it is nice the subtle stuff that goes on that you don't pay attention to. It is a bit of a bother if you're living in the city with noisy traffic noise happening outside, but I guess you can get a glimpse of it if you pay attention.

Sometimes we do forget the subtle things that Mother Nature gives us. Of course, in the city it is hared to hear them.

When I`m alone, I feel closer to the nature. I often go outside and watch those little creatures flying above me, listen to the hymns of the flowers and feel the embrace of the wind to my soul. I agree with you that when "you are feeling down, try sitting outside" and feel the blessings of nature.
