TV Review - Strike

2017 BBC TV – spoiler alerts
Quite enjoying the Cormaron Strike TV adaptation, though not familiar with the Galbraith (J K Rowling pseudonym) novels. It is very well acted and runs like a 21st century noir without Chandleresque wisecracks.
Pretty obvious that one legged private detective Strike’s temporary asistant, Robin will stay on as a regular sidekick, and the usual detective story rules apply, namely no one is totally honest, a sense that the hero could get beaten to a pulp at any time, warnings to drop the case, not sharing everything found with the cops,. Etc.
Several characters named after birds, Robin, Cormoran(t), Cuckoo (nickname of
the victim in the opening mystery), etc. A far cry from Harry Potter though.
