Okay, just sharing my picture of me and my kids again on my birthday. That is not what the post is about though.
Today started out to look kind of rough, but turned out really nice as far as the students and schedules went.
The things that were challenging were not our fault, and they evened out.
We had staff meeting. At the end of it was when I felt a downer.
The para that is the most experienced of the three of us clued me in that she is leaving, next week.
The other para and the teacher and the HR person knew. It was not an easy decision for her as she is attached to these kids.
She has always had an extra job to work when school was out. She worked for a nursing staffing agency. They pay twice as much as the school, and they offered her full time work AND they will pay her way to nursing school, a long term dream of hers.
She has some expenses that will be huge that are coming up, so financially this makes lots of sense for her.
Working two jobs, and going to school at the same time would be the pits.
We will all miss her. And school will turn chaotic again, at least for a while.
So much for a great day.

@GardenGerty Life is too busy for all of us. People are becoming self centered.

I certainly hope so. It is not an easy position to fill.

Thank you. Yes, she had a hard time deciding, but it is good for her future, will help her reach her goals and will help pay for some family expenses.

No, my birthday was August 11. @JolietJake did not start a discussion about it on that day. It was a discussion about not celebrating milestones. I just wanted a good pic for this discussion, and although I had shared similar another time, I chose to share this one for this discussion.
