Isn't the baby impala in the image adorable. There he is picking his head up in the middle of a crowd of adult impalas as if to say "Look at me" or "Don't forget I'm here". All babies and children get that same type of look on their faces at various times. Some try to gain attention by being helpful and following all the rules while others are so eager for attention they will try to get it in any way they can. While I was teaching I could always pick out the ones that were eager for attention and didn't care how they got it. Disrupting a class was always the first attention grabbing behavior they would try. I would typically assign them a duty to preform and they seemed to settle down because they felt important. At least some of them would. Children need to now they matter, that someone is noticing them, someone cares enough to pay attention to what they are doing. Like the baby impala, they just want to know you care. Image Credit: Pixabay

How right you are, Sue! Many don't get enough care and attention at home.

That is exactly my feelings. Years of teaching has convinced me of that.

That is so true. Kids that aren't nurtured and cared for are so full of hurt they get hateful. This is one reason why the cults and gangs flourish in this country.

@celticeagle absolutely true, I wonder if that is why we have so many angry, violent young people these days?

I agree, some do act out for the attention and that is that, they do not need medication just attention.

It's probably looking around for something interesting to do while the adults are all just eating that boring grass...

I agree with you there. Most often, kids would do certain things to attract attention.

They do and many times they don't care what kind of attention they get, good or bad, as long as someone notices them.
