One Week to Go

Next Wednesday I step on the scale to find out how much I've lost this month. I'm getting excited to see the results.
I just got home from my daughter's. Did laundry there. She has a full-length mirror in her bathroom and the change I saw is remarkable! I already know I'm down a full size. I wear a 2X, or I should say, did. They've been getting very baggy on me. With my sore throat yesterday, I went to Wal-Mart to get oranges, and the lines were super long, so I browsed slacks. I found a great deal for winter fleece-lined slacks. $5.96 and $6.96 a pair. I bought three - size 1X. I have a combination of 1X and 2X slacks in my wardrobe. 1X being size 16-18 and 2X being size 20. I have a pair of 1X from my wardrobe on now and they aren't too big, but I can tell I might even be a simple XL right now, or I will be by the end of the second month.
My plan is to go through my clothes and get rid of all the large sizes and give them to the thrift shop. I might keep the 2X shirts as I do like them large, but not too large. I'm sure they'll all go by the time I've gotten to my goal weight 125#. I have a long way to go, but if the mirror is any indication, not as far as I did a month ago. I'll know next week.
I also picked up the sewing project at the pool this morning, so I'll be working on that today and get it back to her tomorrow. This one is definitely not difficult. A regular needle will be just fine. I should easily have it finished inside a movie on my DVR list.
That's been my day. How is yours? Thanks for reading.

Today, I am so sorry to report my day isn't as exciting as yours. If you had asked me yesterday I would of had a different story to tell you. Let me see if I can invent a good tale for you now. The wind is still blowing, I have fallen coconuts in my yard, I have coconut leaves hanging from the tree, there is a lot of mud and water in my yard, and my plants are well watered. My house is spotless and clean thanks to my best friend and her sister, my dogs are inside nice and warm, I am sitting here freezing all bundled up. you would think I live in Alaska or some place that actually gets cold. So I guess you would call this a not so typical day for me and it is a rainy day here for sure. The winds are still blowing and it keeps on raining. The river is down to normal and the dogs want to go out and play. I can;t let them out for long otherwise my nice clean home will be filled with little muddy pal prints that I would have to clean again.

@just4him I thought today would be that day. Sigh, an hour after the sun was out and shinning the wind pick up again and it started to rain. My yard again has water in it and the river is still flowing strong. Not so high, but still strong.

The hazards of living on a tropical island. I hope it stops raining soon so your dogs can go out and play without leaving paw prints on your nice clean floors.

So happy for you. It is funny and fun when those pants start to fall off of you. I also like larger shirts, and they are great for layering over smaller shirts when it is cold. I did not lose this summer due to hubby being ill and me becoming sedentary as a result. It should pick up again now that I am back to work.

I'm sure you will. Kids have a way of helping melt those pounds away. Thank you. It's wonderful to know my clothes are getting big on me.

How wonderful, Val! I replied in a PM. I wouldn't buy too many new clothes, since you are on a roll now. Remember, every five pounds is a dress size. Keep that attitude going and you will be at goal in no time at all! Can't wait for a photo!!!

That is a good deal on winter slacks! I hope your throat feels better. Wow! A month already. It seems like you were just telling us about starting this diet. It feels good to give to thrifts. Awhile back a friend of mine had a clothes swap. Everyone brought stuff they didn't want anymore and you could take - for free. Whatever was left over she donated. I got rid of a lot of clothes there. It felt good. What size lines up with 125, I wonder? I don't even know

@FayeHazel That used to be all I wore before 1992 when I went to college and gained all my weight in one year of classes and eating in the cafeteria. Thank you.
