Environmentally-friendly vehicle?

Just a quick post to share this picture. We came across this car on the way down to Cornwall earlier in the summer. There has been a lot of debate over what vehicles are the most environmentally friendly. Presumably the owners of this car thought they could do their bit to combat carbon dioxide emissions by fitting their car with window boxes, since the plants would naturally take up the CO2 (sorry I can't seem to do subscript text on here). I’m just curious to know how they open the back door without spilling out the flowers, since the car is a hatchback. All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2017.

May be the back door is broken and they do not open it, this looks like an old car.

@marlina This car is an old Aixam 751, made in France, it's a diesel car and it is no more produced from at least 10 years.

@LadyDuck So it is! I hadn't even noticed what model it was but I've never seen or even heard of one of those before! I guess the owners are very attached to their car!

Anyway that is a nice move to protect the planet, every little thing count. Hope Trump to see this effort.

Yes it does, and I think the owners must be fond of it!

Maybe they don't use that door! It looks a bit different.

That is very cute! Maybe they're fake, and therefore glued in place? Their dog is a nice touch too!

They did look quite real, as far as we could see. And the boxes appeared to be wooden and screwed to the back of the car!

It does seem interesting and wonder how they would do that unless they don't use the back hatch.
